Part 49
The night was quiet. Too quiet.
Anna was walking alone through the courtyard, her bag slung over her shoulder. She had stayed back for practice, the college corridors almost deserted. The silence made her uneasy, but she pushed the thought aside.
Suddenly—
A harsh voice cut through the stillness.
"Well, well… look who we have here."
Anna froze. The same boy from earlier stepped out of the shadows, his smirk wicked, his eyes glinting with a thirst for revenge. Behind him, three other boys appeared, surrounding her.
Anna's chest tightened. She knew immediately — this wasn't random. It was planned.
---
The Revenge
"You ruined my fun last time," the boy snarled, stepping closer.
"Because of you, I couldn't touch Kylie. Do you know how much I hate you for that?"
Anna's fists clenched. Her voice, though trembling, was firm.
"Stay away from me."
The boy laughed darkly.
"Or what? Ethan isn't here to protect you now."
As if on cue, Anna turned— and her heart sank. In the distance, she could see Ethan struggling against two boys, tied with thick ropes, his mouth gagged. His furious eyes met hers, his muffled voice trying to shout her name.
"ETHAN!" she cried, panic flooding her veins.
The boy smirked, leaning dangerously close.
"Don't worry. He won't be helping you tonight."
---
Anna in Danger
The group closed in on her, their words venomous, their laughter cruel. Anna fought back, shoving and kicking, but the odds were against her. They were stronger, ruthless. Her cries echoed in the empty ground as she tried to resist.
The leader growled in frustration, finally grabbing her tightly. "Enough!"
With a swift motion, he threw Anna over his shoulder. She screamed, pounding her fists against his back, but he didn't stop.
"Tonight," he hissed, "you'll pay for what you did."
Anna's heart hammered wildly. Fear unlike anything she had felt before consumed her.
---
Kylie's Discovery
Meanwhile, Kylie was leaving through the back exit when she noticed unusual movement near the gym. Curious, she walked closer — and froze.
Her eyes widened in horror.
She saw Ethan bound, thrashing against the ropes, his muffled voice desperate.
"What the—?" Kylie whispered, shock running through her.
Ethan's eyes locked onto hers, pleading. He jerked his head toward the building where Anna was being taken. Kylie's blood ran cold.
Without wasting another second, she pulled out her phone and dialed the only person she knew could help.
"Nick! You need to come. NOW!"
Her voice cracked with urgency as she explained in rushed words.
"They've tied Ethan — and they're taking Anna! Hurry!"
---
Nick's Fury
Nick didn't waste a moment. His voice over the phone was low, controlled, but burning with rage.
"Stay with Ethan. Don't move. I'm coming."
Within minutes, his car screeched into the lot. He rushed to Kylie, immediately untying Ethan. The ropes fell loose, and Ethan staggered forward, his eyes blazing with wrath.
"Anna," he breathed. His fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white.
Nick placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We'll get her back."
Their eyes met — a silent pact. This wasn't just a rescue. This was war.
---
The Hunt Begins
Kylie, shaken but determined, pointed in the direction where they had taken Anna.
"They went that way."
Nick's jaw tightened, his voice cold.
"Then that's where we'll end them."
Ethan and Nick broke into a run, their fury fueling every step.
Anna's screams echoed faintly in the distance — but now, she wasn't alone.
Her protectors were coming.
And nothing could stop them.
