As Kyle and Hagrid spoke, Kanna, standing beside them, looked bewildered the entire time.
Who am I? What am I doing here? What are they talking about?
Wasn't the dog just losing its appetite? Why were they suddenly talking about a three-headed dog?
And what exactly is a three-headed dog? A dog with three heads? But there wasn't one in the room.
"Kyle..." Kanna asked, taking advantage of Hagrid's moment of deep thought. "What were you talking about?"
Kyle didn't answer her directly. Instead, he looked at Hagrid and pursed his lips. "Bring it out! Don't hide it! I'm not a professional veterinarian. I need to see for myself."
"I didn't..." Hagrid tried to argue, but thinking of his own dog's recent condition, he sighed and said, "Okay, then you can't tell anyone."
"Of course," Kyle nodded. "I swear on Cedric's honor."
Hagrid, feeling mixed up, didn't hear Kyle's words clearly and stood up and walked out the door.
But Kanna heard.
"Why are you swearing on Cedric's honor?" the little witch asked, puzzled.
"Don't worry about the details." Kyle waved his hand. "If I had it, I would definitely use my own."
Kanna said nothing, silently moving aside.
Hagrid returned soon. It seemed that he had hidden Fluffy not far from here.
After returning to the cabin, Hagrid first drew the curtains, then lifted the mokeskin coat covering his arms, revealing Fluffy hidden inside.
Fluffy was now about the size of a cow. After realizing that he was being carried into the cramped room again, he quickly drooped his head and lay motionless on the ground.
Kanna was shocked. She didn't expect Hagrid to actually bring back a large dog with three heads, and it looked so... ugly!
The appearance of the three-headed dog was similar to that of other large beasts in the wizarding world: all of them were ugly and distinctive.
Fluffy was no exception. His massive, toothy mouth took up nearly half his head, and the flesh around his nose was piled up like a washboard.
"Could it be that a three-headed dog has Shar Pei blood?"
Kyle scratched his hair, wondering uncertainly.
After all, he'd never seen a three-headed dog before. Newt's box, while magical, wasn't filled with everything.
In fact, even in Greece, a three-headed dog was a very rare magical creature, probably on par with a basilisk.
Kyle was certain that the person who sold it to Hagrid was a complete novice.
"What a good boy!" Kyle couldn't help but stroke Fluffy's ugly, cute head.
The fur was very hard, and it felt like rubbing an old shoe brush.
It felt far worse than Fang's.
The little guy was quite aggressive. When he noticed he was being rubbed, he opened his mouth and bit Kyle's hand.
Kyle dodged and gently patted the middle one's head. "Stop making trouble. I'll give you something delicious later."
Fluffy immediately quieted down and purred at Kyle twice.
"How about Murtlap rat jerky?" Kyle thought for a moment and said, "It's a bit firmer than beef. You should like it."
"Wow..."
"Thirty bucks?" Kyle frowned. "No, that's too much. I only have nine, so it's just right for the three of you."
Kyle was haggling with Fluffy when Hagrid, watching from beside him, nearly popped his head out of his head. He looked from Fluffy to Kyle and said in disbelief, "Mr. Scamander even taught you that?"
Kyle just smiled and said nothing.
Many in the wizarding world knew Chris could communicate with magical creatures, but Chris's explanation was that "Mr. Scamander taught me."
Since Newt had never publicly denied it, people naturally believed it.
In their view, as the greatest magical creature master of this century, it was perfectly normal for Newt Scamander to possess some skills others didn't possess.
Only a select few knew the truth, like the Weasleys, Newt and his wife, and Dumbledore... Cross this one out, so I'm not sure.
And Hagrid obviously wasn't one of those people.
"Merlin's beard, it seems Mr. Scamander really thinks highly of you." Hagrid looked at Kyle with some envy and said, "I've begged him for ages, but he won't teach me how to talk to magical creatures."
"It's just a little trick, Hagrid." Kyle took out some dried Murtlap rat meat and fed it to Fluffy, smiling. "I'm sure even if you can't understand what it's saying, you can at least understand what it's trying to say."
"Yes, I can," Hagrid said proudly. "I always know what Fluffy wants, and Fluffy understands me too. He was so naughty when he was little, but as soon as I sing, he falls asleep."
To prove he wasn't exaggerating, Hagrid demonstrated it himself, gently patting Fluffy and then singing.
Then, Kyle clearly heard Fluffy's words.
"It's started again, it's started again, my head hurts."
"Go to sleep, it'll be all right... "
"Go to sleep, come on!"
Fluffy's three heads closed their eyes simultaneously, and seconds later, they were snoring, their movements so skillful it was almost heartbreaking.
"Look, it's asleep," Hagrid said happily.
Kyle laughed dryly twice, looking at Hagrid's happy look, and after thinking for a while, he decided not to tell him the truth. Instead, he brought up the topic again.
"It's very big now, Hagrid." Kyle touched Fluffy's head and said, "You should have noticed that it has been in a very low mood since it entered the room just now. You must put it in the Forbidden Forest as soon as possible."
"I know, but I'm worried..." Hagrid said a little disappointedly, "Fluffy is still so young, what will happen without my care?"
Kyle raised his eyebrows. He felt that Hagrid should be worried about the other creatures in the Forbidden Forest.
Hagrid's eyes wandered for a moment, and he continued, "And if you put it in the Forbidden Forest, Dumbledore might see it. What if he sends Fluffy away?"
"Then send it farther away, deep into the Forbidden Forest." Kyle said, "Don't forget that this is a special period. The Aurors of the Ministry of Magic have been tracking down those magical creatures of unknown origin. It's better to be discovered by Dumbledore than by them."
"That Greek guy is not in the same group as them." Hagrid's face flushed with excitement. "I've confirmed that he is not in the photos released by the Ministry of Magic."
"But the Aurors don't care about that." Kyle said calmly, "What they care about is that before that group of people was arrested, you happened to buy a three-headed dog of unknown origin."
