Shi Yubai extended his hand, his voice gentle and warm.
"Jiang Lai, I've heard a lot about you."
The hand in front of her was porcelain white like jade, with long slender fingers and delicate fingertips. The perfectly trimmed pink-white nails were well-suited for holding a scalpel or playing the piano.
Jiang Lai had never seen such beautiful hands, so she infused a bit of personal feeling into the handshake, lingering for an extra two seconds.
The other party didn't withdraw his hand first, but waited until Jiang Lai's fingertip gently brushed against his before letting her withdraw.
"Shi Yubai — that's a rare surname."
"Your name is interesting too, Jiang Lai — as in future."
They were meeting for the first time and were not familiar with each other. Jiang Lai wasn't particularly adept at socializing, so after exchanging a few simple words, she moved on to discuss foreign business with Mr. Huang.
