At this point, the few others who had objections also fell silent. Not for any other reason, but simply for the sake of this wine, they were willing to sit down and talk. The Zhao Family is a family of wine lovers... though not actual drunkards, they are clear-headed people who love wine but never let it interfere with important matters.
Grandfather Zhao was injured in battle in his early years, and a blizzard raged on for a month. The old man only survived thanks to a jug of wine and a bit of dry food given by a comrade on their deathbed. If it had only been the dry food, with his body full of wounds and in the bitter cold, he would have frozen to death in the snow long ago.
