Li Xing walked into the tree cave, and found herself in a spacious area about the size of an arena, with a flat tree stump, as big as a meditation cushion, standing alone in the center.
Li Xing turned around and discovered that the entrance she came through had disappeared. She walked forward about a dozen steps, yet still didn't reach the cave walls, and the meditation cushion-like stump remained ten feet behind her. It seemed the tree cave was merely an entrance, and she was already within a barrier.
Li Xing, with unsteady steps, quickly approached the tree stump, pricked her fingertip, and let three drops of fresh blood fall onto it. Then she held her breath and focused, quietly waiting for what was about to happen.
