Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Different, Truly Different!

The third time the guilty little paw reached out, it suddenly stopped, and a confused expression appeared on her chubby little face.

Why does she not remember what a Flat Peach is?

However, it seems she knows that Flat Peaches are very sweet, not as tasty as fish meat but still quite good.

But when did she eat them?

She can't recall.

Qi Manman patted her forehead uncomfortably, and the fish soup on her hand got smeared onto her forehead.

The blue smoke floating upwards suddenly circled around and started drifting towards Qi Manman's forehead.

After circling the little dumpling's head twice, she finally lowered her little paw and began muttering to the three incense sticks: "Grandpa Jade Emperor, I can't remember anything, what should I do?"

"But it seems like it doesn't matter, can you just not let Grandpa Dragon King make it rain? My grandpa and grandma say it's time for the autumn harvest, or something like that, and we shouldn't have rain during this time."

"Grandpa Jade Emperor, if you hear me, have a bite of fish meat. If you don't, then I'll eat all the fish meat!"

With that, the chubby little paw reached for the fish again.

At this moment, the blue smoke rushed toward a nearby grass carp at an extremely fast speed.

In the blink of an eye, the fish was covered in a layer of smoke.

It looked as if something had wrapped the blue smoke around the fish.

Qi Manman was dumbfounded.

Is this... being heard?

Her big eyes blinked again and again, watching the smoke as it refused to dissipate.

Her little paw reached forward, and the blue smoke seemed to thicken even more.

"Grandpa Jade Emperor, you, you can't do this, the fish also has my share; you can't eat it all yourself!"

The little dumpling yelled angrily.

The blue smoke wavered but didn't disperse.

Though the smoke didn't disperse, the cries from the little dumpling alerted the outside Qi Family.

Mrs. Qi was the first to rush in, calling out while running: "Don't cry, don't cry, dear baby, Grandma's here!"

With Mrs. Qi's voice, the small old lady appeared at the doorway.

The smoke on the fish dispersed, the three incense sticks extinguished at an eerie speed, and even flew back into their previous positions in the rice bowl. The incense heads showed no signs of burning, and the fragrance in the air disappeared without a trace, as if it had never existed.

Seeing the little dumpling sitting at the table angrily, not looking confused or frightened from waking up, Mrs. Qi breathed a sigh of relief, sat by the bed, and reached out to hug the little dumpling into her arms.

But just then, the little one's chubby paw reached for the fish again, grabbing a handful and stuffing it into her mouth.

"Oh my goodness!"

Mrs. Qi was startled, hurriedly trying to stop her, but the little dumpling was too quick, stuffing a fistful of fish into her mouth.

"Little ancestor, spit it out quickly, it might have bones, don't get pricked."

Mrs. Qi tried to scoop the fish out of the little one's mouth, but before she could touch her, the little one spat the fish out with a 'puh'.

As she spat, she cried, and as she cried, she howled: "Wah! Not tasty, not tasty! Boohoo, the fish isn't tasty!"

Seeing no fish or bones in the little one's mouth, Mrs. Qi finally felt relieved.

But seeing the little one crying so hard she almost fainted made Mrs. Qi's heart ache.

She held the little one in her arms, gently patting her back, comforting in a soft voice: "Dear baby, don't cry, don't cry, the fish isn't tasty, let's have some egg custard. Grandma steamed it for you with some sesame oil; it's better than fish."

"Fish, fish isn't, isn't tasty anymore, hiccup! Boohoohoo..."

Qi Manman's head was full of the fish she had just eaten, clearly having her share, but Grandpa Jade Emperor ate it all.

Boohoo, the fish isn't tasty anymore...

The other Qi Family members rushed in, filling the room quickly.

Yi Meng, feeling extremely distressed, reached out to hug the girl, but the little one kept crying while holding onto Mrs. Qi's neck, whimpering, "Grandma, the, the egg, egg custard is just for Manbao, not, not for..."

"Alright, alright, it's just for Manbao to eat, no one else."

Mrs. Qi thought the little one was guarding food, thinking she didn't want to share with others.

It was originally prepared just for her, so there was no discomfort at all.

"Yes, yes, just, just for Manbao, boohoo, just, just for Manbao!"

No more for Grandpa Jade Emperor!

Boohoo, bad Grandpa Jade Emperor!

Under the comfort of her family, Qi Manman finally stopped crying, waiting pitifully for her egg custard.

She wants to eat the egg custard, while eating and watching the incense, not giving even a bite to Grandpa Jade Emperor!

Hum!

Whether the egg custard is tasty or not, Qi Manman didn't know.

Because before she could taste it, she was hurriedly taken to the doctor's house by the Qi Family.

In the village lived an old doctor, who, because of his age, preferred a quiet life at his ancestral home, providing medical care to the villagers as a sideline.

When the Qi Family arrived, the old doctor was just about to sit down for his meal, and upon seeing so many people rush into his yard, he was indeed startled.

"Oh my, why are there so many of you? Did something serious happen?"

The old doctor leaned on his cane and walked towards the door, a hint of urgency in his words.

"Elder Qin, please take a look at our Manbao. The child ate several bites of fish while we weren't paying attention and just cried; we're afraid she's swallowed a fishbone."

Yi Meng spoke with a sobbing tone.

Hearing this, Elder Qin was also taken aback, hurriedly gesturing for Qi Jinbao to bring the child closer, extending his bony hand to feel Qi Manman's neck.

"Giggle, giggle..."

Qi Manman chuckled as someone touched her neck, the tickling feeling making her laugh.

Seeing the child like this, Elder Qin paused, suspiciously looking at Qi Manman: "Are you called Manbao?"

"I'm Qi Manman! Grandpa Jin can call me Manbao!"

Qi Manman replied in her childish voice.

Qi Quanjin, standing to the side, quickly said, "Manbao, this is Grandpa Qin, not Grandpa Jin. Qin, say it with daddy, Qin."

At this moment, Qi Quanjin was exceptionally patient, diligently helping his daughter correct her pronunciation.

Qi Manman, however, pouted discontentedly, looking at her dad and then at the old gentleman in front of her, very seriously saying, "This is Grandpa Jin! All gold and shiny, he's Grandpa Jin!"

"Hahaha!"

Elder Qin was amused: "Little girl, Grandpa isn't the God of Wealth; how could I be all gold and shiny? Now tell Grandpa, does it hurt here?"

Although he laughed, Elder Qin hadn't forgotten why the family rushed over.

Qi Manman blinked her eyes, looking at the old man in front of her who radiated golden light, pondering how he could be gold and shiny without being related to the God of Wealth.

The God of Wealth not only shines with gold but also has a red glow!

Different, really different!
