Granny Summers chuckled. "Our little Sweetie really seems to like you."
Caleb Lockwood's lips curved, a soft light flickering in his eyes. "It… is very cute." Just like her.
"My son and daughter are both abroad. Little Sweetie was a gift from my little granddaughter. She said she wanted Little Sweetie to keep us old folks company. Oh right, Dr. Lockwood, you live by yourself, don't you?"
"You don't even keep a pet at home or anything?" Granny Summers was a bit curious. This young man was so outstanding and so handsome—how was he still alone?
Caleb shook his head. After a moment, he glanced at the kitten in Granny Summers' arms, a gentle smile gathering in his eyes. His thin lips parted slightly. "Maybe… I'll have one."
Granny Summers laughed. "That's good, that's good. Then our little Sweetie will have a companion. I won't keep you, our Teacher Jennings is still waiting for me downstairs."
