By 11 o'clock, the Black Scale Lion was reduced to just a skeleton.
Xu Yi kept some bones to fashion arrowheads and burned the rest as firewood.
The bones gave off an unpleasant smell when burned, but Xu Yi and Lu Ke didn't mind.
The meat still needed to be smoked further.
However, with the fence now in place, there was no worry of animals stealing it.
Giant Ha was already full, and its bowl still contained plenty of innards, so it wouldn't bother with the dried meat.
So, Xu Yi added enough firewood for Lu Ke, then went upstairs to sleep.
Despite a tiger carcass hanging in the house, it did not attract other animals.
A calm night passed.
The next day, Lu Ke woke up on time.
Outside, light snow was falling.
On the ground, there was already a layer of snow.
That meant the snow had been falling for a while.
Daytime snowfall was not good news.
Lu Ke donned a fur coat and went downstairs.
