Chapter 10 - Chapter 6: Going Out to Buy Things

Su Jiameng glanced at the history of mecha combat competitions. The original intention of its creation was good. It was meant to enhance interaction among Mecha Masters and help ordinary people better understand this group. However, with the development of economic interests, it slowly lost its original flavor.

Of course, the shady business had nothing to do with Su Jiameng. She just wanted to make money quickly. Sure, she could sell baby Nutrient Liquid for Credit Points, but the problem was that online operations required some procedures and qualifications, and those who could afford this Nutrient Liquid wouldn't buy it from a poor planet's seller. Even if they bought it, would they dare to use it on their children?

These are all problems she can't solve now; it's better to make money by taking action.

However, there is currently another problem confronting her: the network is so intermittent that it only supports her browsing web pages. Logging into the interstellar virtual network is a fool's dream! If she can't even get onto the virtual network, how can she participate in a mecha combat competition!

"Baby, do you think Mama is really in a tough spot right now, completely trapped in a vicious cycle?" Looking at the two eggs floating towards her again, Su Jiameng reached out to catch them before they landed. After indulging them for a short while, she continued to take out the Nutrient Liquid.

The daily portion of Nutrient Liquid only supports the babies for an hour. At this rate, the Nutrient Liquid she exchanged might not last until they hatch. Luckily, the database is comprehensive, and exchanging it on the Plane Trading Platform is a trade without capital.

Mmm... maybe someday when life is stable, she can trade things from other Planes here for sale? It seems like a very good idea; opening an online store and becoming a small business owner is also a good option.

It seems there are no rampant Insect Races in this world, no clouds of war, so she can live the peaceful life she always hoped for in her past life. Open a small shop, raise two little buns, and live a leisurely and comfortable life.

"Maybe I should ask the neighbors where the signal is better..." Returning from her beautiful daydream of the future, she thought it would be best to solve the current problems first.

Su Jiameng needed to go out, but she wouldn't dare to leave the two eggs in the room, so she had to find a bag to stash them in and carry them on her back to be safer. After eating a Colorful Fruit, she regained some strength. She asked other neighbors, and they said the signal was just like that. She could spend and buy a network signal amplifier, which would allow her to access the virtual network at home.

After inquiring about the price of the network signal amplifier, Su Jiameng instantly gave up on buying it, a full three thousand Credit Points!

Robbery doesn't come this harshly! Helpless, she could only try her luck at a second-hand shop. Her home was on the 63rd floor of this poor apartment building. Luckily, there was an elevator, or she'd have to crawl to death. But that friendly neighbor mentioned that elevator usage is time-restricted, from seven in the morning to nine at night. Beyond this time, she'd have to rely on her legs to climb.

"Really stingy, even saving on elevator electricity..."

Exiting the elevator, she saw quite a few people on the way. Others greeted her, and she responded with a smile... as for recognizing them or not, that wasn't important. Adjusting the backpack containing the two eggs, Su Jiameng slowly stepped out of the building.

Probably to save land resources, the two broad, over two hundred-story buildings were very close, and the street was only wide enough for two cars to pass side by side. Living in such an oppressive environment for a long time makes people's hearts restless and tense.

According to the directions from pedestrians, the second-hand shop wasn't far from her home, just a twenty-minute walk straight ahead.

On this poor planet, nobody knows how many hands the so-called second-hand shop products have passed through. But the goods here are cheap, and residents can afford them if they grit their teeth. However, for the utterly impoverished Su Jiameng, she probably couldn't afford to buy anything no matter how hard she bit down. She's facing this embarrassing situation now...

"Could you please tell me again, how many Credit Points does a second-hand network signal amplifier cost?" Su Jiameng's inquiry caught the attention of the customers in the store. Seeing her so poorly dressed, their eyes were somewhat subtle, even filled with various unexpected hues...

"Five hundred Credit Points! This is already the cheapest price, young lady." The shop owner was a middle-aged man with a walrus mustache, with slightly dark brown skin, messy hair, and wearing a gray-blue repair suit reeking of engine oil.
