"Please would you mind joining our group"
'she's a noble ' damain said inwardly 'so is the girl with her. Why would two nobles want to be in the same group as me even that guy is not a noble. Is there something going on... Even if there was I'm not in the best position to be picky, it's my first time hunting I still need a group'
"Sure" the silver haired girl was delighted to hear this and proceeded to introduce everyone "Awesome, this mireen, calen and I'm Abby"

"Wo...won't you introduce yourself"
"Oh sorry, I'm Damian"
"Damian is it, I see" she said with a smile stretching out her hand for a handshake "I look forward to walking with you Damian"
Damian accepted the hand shake but froze
' her hands are cold... Too cold'
" Great" mireen muttered "another dead weigh " Damian met the other girls annoyed gaze
" Don't worry about her, she's my childhood friend. She can be a little bit of a headache sometimes"
"Abby!!, are you really going to talk about me like that"

Minutes later, all groups have been created and we're escorted to the outer perimeter of the academy grounds, where a portal that gave off a faint blue glow was.
They went through, group by group. Arriving at what seem to be a very large cave, all 4 thousand students easily fit. It was lit up with huge faintly glowing crystals on the walls.
"Good day students, we'll Begin first years, day 2 mission 1 hunt. You will not receive any assistance from your instructors, so be sure to do your best. With that being said. Begin"
Ferals soon began appearing huge wolf like creatures about 4ft, they attacked immediately they saw the students mindlessly. The students noticed their instructors where nowhere to be seen. They were really on their own.
But most of them weren't as afraid as you would think, the feral biggest weakness is it's defense and is not smart enough to protect its self, not to mention the beast were out numbered, they kept increasing but not at a rapid pace,
10 beast,
next 30 second,
+5 beast,
a minute later +6.
The students where here to claim as many beast core as possible so the beast won't even have the luxury to increase in number to match theirs. Holding the sword provided to them by the academy they got ready to fight.
However, The nobles wasted no time flaunting their affinity, ignoring any form of team work.
At a flicker shade it's difficult to manifest your affinity, however not impossible.
The nobles have be trained several times by experts to be able to do so. Although their affinity wasn't strong enough to cause huge damage but against a beast with zero defense they were invincible not even needing their weapons except when their nethera was about to run out.
The number of beats kept increasing with time but the nobles attacks was relentless reducing their numbers almost immediately.
The nobles mercilessly slaughtered the beasts, leaving their core for their teammates to pickup.
"Comon Abby, let's go they will only hold us back" mireen said, her fingers danced with thin ribbons of flames.
"Hey, you guys should wait here. Me and mireen will kill as many beast as possible and bring back the cores. When we do, we'll share it amongst ourselves, ok"
Calen nodded, shaking
"What are we we supposed to do then" Damian asked surprised at Abby's statement
"Just stand here and be grateful while we do all the work" mireen snarled
"We'll be back"
Damian and calen where left there. Looking at the seen above, the ferals where being slaughtered in every way imaginable, some burnt alive, some stabbed, others decapitated, incinerated. It makes you wonder who the real monsters are.
The nobles with a huge grin and laughter just kept going, taking out time to torture some particular beats that looked ugly or just annoyed them.
What's even more crazy is how they manifest their abilities and are able to sustain it in spite being just flicker shades.
This just shows why they are nobles and above regular people, cause if at the lowest rank they can do this just how terrifying are the nobles at the top.
Damian decided to be patient not trusting the two girls fully but at this point can't do anything due to the nobles relentless assault.
He watched in silence but soon notice that some beats are getting past the noble,
the nobles nethera reserves where still low and they being able to manifest their abilities drained it even more so now they have to result to using their swords.
" Don't they ever stop" some of the students wondered. Damian tried concealing his presence with his shadows as he planned to start attacking the beast getting past the nobles, he needed to learn how to kill beats after all.
He couldn't quiet muster his ability but his shadow can still conceal his presence as long as he has nethera, can't make him invincible but can make him hard to detect and with this chaos, he moved like a shadow. It was easy for the monsters not to detect him however same can't be said about calen.
A feral soon noticed him, calen shaking visible knew he had been spotted. He wanted to run but his legs failed him.
The best ran towards him with all its might. Getting close it lunged at him, calen could see his life flash before his eyes but the beast was cleanly sliced off.
' what the instructor said was true, it's like cutting through butter'
Calen looking at the dead beats almost vomited but pulled himself together as he thanked Damian.
" Look if you can't defend yourself, you should probably go to the portal, that's the safest and farthest from the beats"
Calen nodded silently, he thanked Damian again and left. Damian looked at the beast and sore something glowing at the chest. The beast core.
He took the core, the size of a tennis ball, seeing how easy it was to kill the beats, Damian thought about gathering more cores for himself. He never liked the idea of someone doing his homework for him.
He began hunting, his body low. He waited for the beast to draw near then, then moving into it's blind spot he would flank the beast, slashing it's legs while doing so and following with a stab to the spine. The battle went one for some minutes, some students did end up getting injured but soon the nobles recovered their nethera energy and this battle continued to be one sided. The beats soon stopped increasing in numbers and it seems the students were about to finish their test.
The portal soon gave a light glow indicating someone was coming, however it wasn't the instructor coming to congratulate them. It was.....
