Sticking to the side of a tree was a shirtless, black-haired boy who looked no older than twelve. This boy was none other than Kintaro, training relentlessly to master the three basic chakra control techniques.
However, trying to master all the basic chakra control techniques was proving to be more difficult than he'd hoped. Which was honestly to be expected for someone who didn't know how to use chakra properly, especially being reborn into a body that had even worse chakra control than average.
If anything, Kintaro was still struggling to get through the fundamentals and was having a rough time, to say the least.
However...
After a week and a few days of grueling practice, Kintaro finally managed to master the leaf concentration technique. After that, it took him another week to master the tree walking technique. Learning it was fairly straightforward to understand since the leaf concentration had given him much better chakra control, but mastering the technique to the point where it felt completely natural took considerably longer.
Now, the only thing left to master was the water walking technique.
Still, something was nagging at his nerves. 'Didn't Sakura get this down in a single day? And it took me a week... ugh, I can't even compare to Trashkura, that's how shit my stats are.' he mused bitterly, biting at the inside of his cheek before jumping off the side of the tree bark and dropping to the ground.
'Well, I'm not going to let the fact that Trashkura has better chakra control than me get me down,' he sighed, walking over to take a seat under the shade of a nearby tree for a much-needed break.
The past two weeks of non-stop training had been exhausting, but he could feel the difference in his chakra control. "Alright, let me check out my stats now," he muttered under his breath, wiping sweat from his forehead. "Stats..." he said, focusing on the system interface.

He leaned back even further against the bark of the tree as he looked down at his stats, his expression neither particularly disappointed nor happy, but somewhere in between.
'Well, at least all my physical stats have gone up past E-minus rank, except for my durability... which makes sense since I haven't been able to train that stat yet,' he thought, reviewing the small but noticeable improvements.
Over the past few weeks, Kintaro hadn't only been focusing on his chakra control, but also on other aspects he needed to improve physically. Since his chakra reserves were miniscule to say the least, he needed to work on training his body as well. From the academy manuals he'd read on chakra theory and his anime knowledge, he knew that chakra was a mixture of both physical and mental energy. So if you increased either one, your overall chakra would increase.
Since realizing this, he'd also been working out relentlessly during his training breaks. During that time, he'd figured out something important, and that was the fact that he didn't necessarily need Story Points to get stat points. He could actually level up his stats manually through training and practice.
However, manual stat growth was significantly slower compared to just using Story Points to boost his stats directly. But he had no choice in the matter, since his Story Point gains had severely decreased after those initial big wins in the classroom.
He also tried talking to Naruto before, but that only earned him a small amount of SP. Same thing happened when he tried talking to everyone else, and he barely got any story points to show for it. The one person he couldn't even approach was Sasuke. That nonchalant emo just ignored him completely whenever he tried to talk to him, the guy was just radiating that whole 'don't talk to me' vibe that kept everyone away.
But he didn't really care, since at least his physical training was paying off. Every time he increased his strength stat, his chakra capacity grew alongside it. He figured his A+ intelligence played a part too, since he had a higher mental energy that meant he was gaining chakra faster.
'I also really need to work on my Taijutsu and my other ninja stats, he thought, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. 'They're going to be crucial later on. But without a proper sensei or decent training manuals, I'm pretty much stuck at E- for a while. The Academy manuals only teach the basics that barely even scratch the surface on everything, and with my current chakra levels I can't learn ninjutsu, and Taijutsu is about all I can focus on anyway. Guess I'll have to wait until I can access the Shinobi Archives after graduation to learn more.'
Kintaro swatted the thought away and jumped back to his feet, looking up at the sky. It was late afternoon, but the sun was still hanging around. 'There's still some time before it gets dark, and I've got a little chakra left in the tank so there's still time left to train...'
Rolling his shoulders, he walked over to the stream nearby. ' I only got a couple days left on this quest deadline. So I better master water walking as fast as I can.'
He stripped down to his boxers and tossed his clothes aside. Without hesitation, he sprinted toward the stream and launched himself into the air.
"BOOYAKASHA!!!" he shouted, forcing chakra down to his feet as he tried to land on the surface.
But as expected, he crashed right through and hit the water like a rock.
'Shit,' he thought, swimming back to the surface and spitting out stream water that probably had fish piss in it.

"Okay, class," Iruka clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. "It's been two weeks, so you already know what day it is. Let's move out to the training yard. I'm testing your Taijutsu skills today, and I hope everyone's been practicing... I'd be very disappointed if you haven't."
His stern gaze swept across the classroom, making a few students shift uncomfortably in their seats.
Kintaro immediately groaned from the back. 'Great, just what I fucking needed... and it had to be Taijutsu of all things.'
He dragged his palm down his face and let out a heavy sigh before following the rest of the class outside. The crowd of students shuffled behind Iruka as he led them to the back of the academy building.
The training ground looked like shit, it was mostly dirt with random weeds poking through here and there. Wooden stumps were scattered around the edges, some thin, others thick. A few looked like they'd been slashed to pieces, while others were completely bashed in from years of student abuse.
But right in the middle sat a large ring that was obviously meant for sparring.
"Alright, class, gather around the circle," Iruka instructed. The students quickly formed a loose crowd around the ring as he coughed and continued. "You should already know what to do, but since a certain somebody broke the rules last time..." His eyes narrowed in Kiba's direction before he sighed and shook his head. "I'll have to explain the rules again."
Kiba caught the look and turned away, kissing his teeth in annoyance. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and started petting Akamaru, who was napping peacefully on his head.
"It's simple, just a pure Taijutsu fight, no ninjutsu allowed. Just hands. You get knocked down or knocked out of the ring, you're out...alright, first is." Iruka said, laying out the rules.
Kintaro swallowed hard. 'Please don't pick me... please don't pick me...' he begged internally. He really didn't want to get his ass kicked in front of everyone right now.
"Takeshi and Hiroshi," Iruka said, glancing at the clipboard in his hands.
Two boys stepped out from the crowd and walked into the ring, sizing each other up.
"And..." Iruka raised his hand in the air, waiting for them to get into position.
"GO!" He dropped his hand.
The two boys immediately charged at each other. From the start, it was obvious Hiroshi had the upper hand, he was faster and landing way more hits than Takeshi could handle.
The crowd started shouting, cheering both fighters on with mixed enthusiasm.
But the fight didn't last long. As expected, Hiroshi won easily, leaving Takeshi sprawled on the ground.
"Good job, Hiroshi," Iruka said, making the boy grin before both fighters stepped back into the crowd. Takeshi was limping slightly but didn't look too banged up.
"Alright... next is Naruto and Choji," Iruka called out, checking his clipboard.
"Aw man... it just had to be him," Naruto groaned from a few spots away from Kintaro, adjusting his goggles before reluctantly stepping into the ring.
Choji sighed and reluctantly handed his bag of chips to Shikamaru. "Hold these for me," he muttered before walking to the center of the ring where Naruto was waiting.
Iruka waited for them to get into position, then dropped his hand to start the fight.
The match was pretty one-sided. Naruto put in decent effort and managed to push Choji back a few times, but his punches barely seemed to affect the bigger kid. Naruto was faster, sure, but that made it hard for Choji to land a solid grab.
As the fight dragged on though, Naruto started slowing down. Choji seized the opportunity, caught him in a bear hug, and slammed him to the ground.
"Winner... CHOJI!" Iruka called out.
The crowd's reaction was pretty lukewarm, mostly just hateful glares directed at Naruto as he slowly picked himself up off the dirt. Naruto bit his lip and kicked at the ground, before shoving his hands deep in his pockets and trudged back to the crowd with his head down.
Kintaro felt a pang watching that. 'Damn... everyone really does hate him here.'
"Haha... what a loser," Kiba. whispered from the crowd, loud enough for others to hear.
Snickers and quiet laughter rippled through the group as more kids joined in. Naruto could hear every word, but he just kept his mouth shut, knowing that saying anything would only make things worse for him.
Kintaro looked around at all the faces filled with pure hatred and disgust. 'People in anime, man... they're all just fucking dumbasses.'
He shook his head as he watched. 'Here's this little kid who hasn't done anything wrong, and they treat him like complete shit. It's not like it was Naruto's fault the Nine-Tails got sealed inside him. But because of that one thing, his whole life's been nothing but crushing loneliness.'
The whole situation made him cringe. 'If it wasn't for that manipulative piece of shit Danzo, maybe Naruto could've had something close to a normal childhood. But these villagers are just as stupid, treating a kid like he's some kind of monster when they damn well know a child couldn't be responsible for any of that crap.'
It really just proved what kind of fucked up world he'd been dropped into.
"Alright, next is..." Iruka called out another pair of names.
He kept calling matches until almost everyone had gone. That left just Kintaro and...
Sasuke.
He glanced over and saw Sasuke already staring at him with those cold, piercing eyes. Kintaro quickly looked away and tugged at his collar. 'Yikes, just my luck...'
"And lastly... Kintaro and Sasuke."
Kintaro took a deep breath and walked into the ring. He could feel everyone's eyes boring into him, which wasn't exactly a comfortable feeling. He wouldn't say he was shy or nervous normally, but having the whole class stare him down was different.
But as soon as the attention landed on him, it quickly shifted as Sasuke walked into the ring with his hands casually stuffed in his pockets.
'I just had to get matched up against Sasuke...Yay! so fucking fantastic.' Kintaro sighed internally. 'I don't even know how to fight properly.'
It wasn't like he was a pacifist or anything, but in his past life, he'd rarely gotten into actual fights. Maybe some arguments here and there, but never real fistfights. He had no clue what he was doing.
But Sasuke, on the other hand, had been training religiously for years and had tons of actual fighting experience.
So this was nowhere near a fair matchup.
Kintaro took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before dropping into a stance that looked eerily familiar to Goku's fighting pose. 'Maybe all those years of watching Dragon Ball will finally pay off,' he thought hopefully. 'I'm curious though... how do my stats compare to his?'

A sudden pop-up appeared in his vision, and Kintaro was taken aback. 'I can see other people's stats... that'll be somewhat useful.'
He glanced over Sasuke's numbers, and his face immediately dropped into a deep frown. 'FUCK! Everything is either triple or quadruple my stats. I'm so screwed!'
"Alright, ready?" Iruka asked, raising his hand in the air.
'No!... but it's not like he's gonna kill me. All I have to do is just fall down if things get too bad.' Kintaro sighed and tried taking deep breaths to calm himself, but it wasn't working one bit. This felt like fighting Mike Tyson in his prime.
"GO!" Iruka shouted, dropping his hand.
