"Good. Come in."
Seeing that Itachi had obediently entered, Uchiha Kai finally allowed himself a faint smile.
The two walked into the small courtyard. Kai asked, "Have you eaten, Itachi?"
"Yes, teacher," Itachi replied with a slow nod. "I can begin training right away."
Kai rolled his eyes.
Still, this time he didn't scold him. As long as Itachi didn't overwork himself, everything else was fine.
The courtyard wasn't large. But for Kai's purposes, there was no need to train ninjutsu yet—just the basics of taijutsu. A training field was unnecessary.
First, horse stance.
In less than fifteen minutes, Itachi's posture was already solid, far beyond what Kai expected.
He couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Ninja really did have superior physical potential compared to ordinary people. In his previous life, someone might take a week to barely manage what Itachi achieved in minutes.
And this was the Uchiha, a clan famous for their eyes, not their bodies.
If it had been the Might Guy family, they might have managed it in under two minutes.
Kai let out a silent sigh and began to explain.
"I know you don't understand. To help you train properly, I'll explain while you hold the stance.
"In my view, the body is the foundation of everything.
"Only with a strong body can you extract more chakra, and only then can you have more options in combat.
"Horse stance won't make you strong quickly. But if you persist, you will grow steadily—without damaging your foundation.
"So from today, you must hold a horse stance for at least two hours a day."
Itachi nodded slowly. He didn't fully understand, but he trusted Kai not to harm him.
Time passed. What began as easy soon became painful. His legs felt heavy as lead, growing sore and trembling. Sweat beaded across his forehead.
But his face stayed calm. He endured.
After five long minutes of agony, suddenly he felt a current of energy surge through his body. Though still rooted in stance, he felt light, his whole body comfortable.
"Good. You've felt it," Kai said.
"That is the mystery of horse stance. As long as you persist, I believe you'll come to enjoy it."
He continued, his tone calm.
"Next, the Sharingan. After long research, I've concluded that the Sharingan's eye power is essentially a form of yin chakra.
"In contrast, Senju Hashirama's Wood Style is pure yang chakra.
"They're no different from the basic elements of fire, wind, water, earth, and lightning.
"The Uchiha have no method of training yin chakra. That's why, after awakening the Mangekyo, the clan believes eye power is finite—and once exhausted, blindness is inevitable.
"But I've devised a method of visualization. I'm not sure yet how effective it is, but I'll teach it to you.
"In addition, there's a taijutsu style, six techniques in total.
"They are: Soru, Tekkai, Kami-e, Geppo, Rankyaku, and Shigan."
Without wasting words, Kai demonstrated each technique in the courtyard.
Itachi activated his two-tomoe Sharingan, carefully observing, recording every movement.
His face was full of shock.
Each technique was powerful beyond imagination. Every move was uncopyable. The destructive force alone made his heart tremble.
And then there was the visualization method. And horse stance.
The clan had always believed eye power, once consumed, was gone. They had never even considered that it might be trainable.
But Kai had not only thought of it—he had created a way.
This courage to break away from old paths and pioneer new ones shook Itachi deeply.
Especially horse stance.
At first glance, boring. But the longer he held it, the more he felt his body growing. Slowly, yes—but steadily, without harm.
That was the most terrifying part.
Itachi could feel his very cells rejoicing. There was none of the exhaustion he had always felt in past training.
This teacher of his… was truly extraordinary.
And so, the doubts he once had—thinking Kai was lazy, that his methods were wasteful—crumbled completely.
Now, at last, he trusted Kai fully, and resolved to follow his guidance to the letter.
"Alright, that's about it," Kai said at last. "As for ninjutsu and weapons training, I won't interfere. You're the clan head's son—you don't lack those resources.
"My only condition: no more than one hour daily for ninjutsu and weapons.
"Two hours of chakra refinement before bed.
"Two hours for the Six Styles, at least two hours of horse stance, and one hour of visualization.
"Altogether, exactly eight hours of training per day.
"Itachi, remember this: at your age, only two things matter.
"Eat well—three proper meals, to nourish your training.
"And rest well—unless something urgent arises, you must be asleep by ten every night."
This time, Itachi nodded with full seriousness. Not like earlier—now he was determined.
He would follow Kai's plan faithfully.
And so, Itachi began training in the courtyard, while Kai dragged out his lounge chair and basked lazily in the sun.
A good life, truly.
But, unfortunately—
Around ten in the morning, Uchiha Tiehuo arrived.
"My lord, forgive the interruption." Tiehuo bowed deeply. "There has been an incident at the Police Force."
"Today we caught a thief in the marketplace. At first, he confessed. So we detained him.
"But now his family is causing a scene. The thief suddenly recanted. Even the victim refuses to testify.
"Without solid evidence… how should we proceed?"
Kai's mouth twitched.
A headache.
Something this trivial—and you came to me?
Seriously? For a petty theft case, you need someone of my rank to intervene?
He had expected the Police Force to be incompetent—but not this incompetent.
"How did Clan Head Fugaku usually handle these cases?" Kai asked, unable to hold back.
Tiehuo replied evenly:
"Three years imprisonment. Public notice of punishment.
"Formally declare that the Uchiha, as the village's strongest clan, guarantee with our honor that no false judgment is possible.
"The Uchiha's glory cannot be defiled or insulted.
"Any who dare—shall be seized!"
