A small and dark object tumbled through the air and flew in a high, slow arc.
It was a green shape against the dark and smoky sky, with a metallic structure and matt finish. It was a frag grenade.
The grenade spun end over end and continued falling before it sailed silently over the open ground and went straight through the hanging cloth flap of the red tent.
A few seconds passed and the camp was completely and utterly silent.
But it was only short lived. A deep and loud sound was heard as an explosion occurred. It wasn't the sharp sound of the frag grenade, but something much bigger.
It was not a normal explosion either but a massive, blinding blast of golden light that blew the tent apart. The heavy red cloth was vaporized in an instant.
The thick wooden logs that held it up were snapped like twigs before they were tossed high into the air. A huge pillar of golden fire shot up into the night sky causing with it immense heat and pressure.
