Chapter 59 - Orc

Aegwynn said, "Occupying another body, where the soul and body don't fit, will cause many problems."

Kael'thas spread his hands, "Ultimately, there's a price to pay. Otherwise, you can only absorb the Void Energy within the Void Dragon's body, which wouldn't be a waste. You choose."

The Night Terror looked at the Void Dragon's corpse, hesitated for a moment, then resolutely opened its mouth and began to absorb.

It quickly absorbed all the Void Energy, its energy level barely reaching its previous peak, just a hair's breadth from being a Demigod.

However, it soon discovered another problem:

Void Dragons need to constantly absorb Void Energy to grow stronger.

Yet, most of Azeroth doesn't have Void Energy; it's only found in places close to the void, like here.

Only in such places could it open a Void Gate and strengthen itself.

With continuous strengthening, it could even reach Demigod level.

But if it leaves this place, the Void Energy in its body would diminish with each use, with no way to replenish it!

"Aren't you going to stay in Karazhan? The balcony is too small. You can live here from now on," Kael'thas said. "It's the only way," the Night Terror said helplessly.

The group continued upwards, arriving at the Chess Hall.

The entire hall was dominated by a chessboard.

The chessboard was imbued with powerful spatial magic, as were the pieces, and a phantom stood beside it.

That was a phantom left by Medivh, or rather, a temporal echo.

"More than one temporal echo."

"He left echoes everywhere he lived!"

"And these echoes are the temporal beacons for his future resurrection!"

Aegwynn used the power of aluneth to cast a spell, and hundreds, even thousands, of temporal echoes converged from all over Karazhan, finally solidifying into a tangible Medivh.

He pushed back his black cloak and smiled at everyone, "Mother, Khadgar, Med'an, Kael'thas —

We will meet again very soon."

After saying this, he dissipated like smoke, vanishing without a trace.

Aegwynn was silent for a moment, then a smile appeared on her face: "I've pinpointed Medivh's location in the Twisting Nether.

Now, all I need to do is accumulate mana."

Khadgar quickly asked, "How much mana do you need?"

"Demigod level, the more the better," Aegwynn replied.

Khadgar was about to say, "Why don't we go to Sandar Hill? The energy there is Demigod level," but upon hearing this, he quickly shut up.

If Sandar Hill's energy were drained to resurrect Medivh, Kael'thas would likely kill him.

And besides Sandar Hill and the Sunwell, where else could they find a Demigod-level energy source?

Dalaran wouldn't be enough.

aluneth was Demigod-level, but she would certainly be unwilling to exhaust her energy to resurrect Karazhan.

They couldn't possibly go to Mount Hyjal or The Nexus, could they?

The Night Elves and the Blue Dragonflight would never agree; both major factions held prejudices against mortal mages.

Kael'thas, however, had long anticipated this.

The stronger the individual, the more difficult the resurrection.

Even with the world barrier weakened, the Night Elves needed to consume the energy of the second Well of Eternity and the World Tree Nordrassil to successfully resurrect the Wild Gods.

Medivh was much stronger than the Wild Gods, so resurrecting him would only be more difficult!

This was only possible in Karazhan, the temporal nexus.

If it were anywhere else, resurrecting Medivh would require at least High Demigod-level energy.

"Master accumulating it alone is too slow; together, we'll be much faster," Kael'thas said.

Khadgar nodded heavily: "I must advance to Legendary as soon as possible to resurrect Master!"

"Me too!" Med'an raised his small hand.

Aegwynn smiled faintly and ruffled his hair: "Alright, once Karazhan is repaired, we'll all work together to resurrect your father!"

The five-person team continued upwards, eliminating numerous Flesh Beasts, and reached the top of the tower.

Karazhan was like a sword plunged upside down, its hilt embedded in the land of Azeroth, its tip piercing the barrier and entering the Twisting Nether.

This was the intersection of the real world and the Twisting Nether, where in the future a tall Eredar warlock named Prince Malchezaar would reside.

He was a loyal fan of Archimonde the Defiler, skilled in both magic and martial arts, with exceptional magical talent.

He followed Archimonde on his second expedition to Azeroth but did not participate in the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Instead, he unexpectedly found this intersection, became trapped here, unable to leave, and somehow acquired Grom Hellscream's battle-axe, Gorehowl.

However, the Burning Legion had not yet launched its second expedition, so he did not exist.

"This is the intersection of the real world and the Twisting Nether, and also the source of Karazhan's temporal chaos," Aegwynn said.

Khadgar quickly asked, "If we repair this place, will Karazhan's spacetime return to normal? No, we can't repair it, otherwise resurrecting Master will be even more difficult!"

Kael'thas looked at the intersection above, which contained energy no less than the Void Rift of the Dark Portal, and said, "Repair it? The difficulty of repairing it is probably even greater than resurrecting Medivh!"

Aegwynn said, "I need to set up a barrier to temporarily seal this intersection, but my mana isn't enough; I need your help."

Kael'thas, Khadgar, and Med'an quickly agreed.

They poured all their mana into Aegwynn, boosting her to Demigod level.

Then, Aegwynn wove a complex spell they had never seen before, sealing the intersection.

The spacetime of the entire Karazhan immediately returned to normal.

Over the next few months, under Aegwynn's guidance, the three began to repair Karazhan.

Kael'thas brought his Mage Guard to help, along with magical materials worth over a million gold coins.

Karazhan was enormous, even larger than Dalaran.

It took over a hundred people half a year of hard work to complete the repair of Azeroth's first Mage Tower.

Fel Energy and death energy were also tirelessly purified by the Chastity Maiden, and the entire Karazhan returned to its appearance of decades ago.

At the same time, under Aegwynn's meticulous tutelage, the three's magical attainments steadily improved.

Med'an, at only three years old, became a somewhat unqualified mage apprentice.

Khadgar's mastery of Teleportation reached Legendary level, making him the youngest Legendary Mage in recent decades.

Kael'thas broke through a bottleneck that had troubled him for years, advancing to High Legendary.

The higher the level, the more one felt how little one knew, and the more one appreciated Aegwynn's power and the difficulty of the path of a mage.

At the current pace, even with Aegwynn's personal guidance, it would take at least a hundred years to advance to Demigod, or perhaps never.

Intelligence determined a mage's upper limit!

Kael'thas continued to study diligently.

Khadgar, meanwhile, traveled between Karazhan and the Keep of Ensorcellment, fulfilling his duty of monitoring the Void Rift.

Time flew by, and two years had passed since the end of the Second Orc War.

One day, Khadgar urgently teleported from the Keep of Ensorcellment, his face grave: "The Void Rift is expanding; the orcs are coming!"
