Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 Rank Up

On Saturday, Leylin gathered all the enchanted arrows. He put the arrows into seven quivers and then hung them neatly on the wall of the material room.

He had other things to do, so he said goodbye to Grand Magister Belo'vir and told him that he was leaving.

Yesterday, Leylin asked Grand Magister Belo'vir if he could be arranged to join the ranger's mission for the next week. The teacher did not answer, as if he was not aware of this matter. Even after Leylin described the mission very clearly, Belo'vir still answered Leylin vaguely.

However, the teacher gestured for Leylin to find the Magister Nallorath, and he could do it.

Taking advantage of today's learning opportunity, Leylin wanted to finish this matter together.

"Teacher, I'm going to the Mage Tower of Magister Nallorath now. You can have dinner by yourself." Leylin said, standing at the door on the top floor of the temple.

Belo'vir nodded, lowered the magic crystal ball, and said with concern, "Student, I want to remind you that if you do go on a mission with the mages of the Silvermoon Council next week, you must be fully prepared."

Leylin nodded, "Understood, I understand what you mean."

Belo'vir had considered whether his student should participate in this mission. Over the past few days, Belo'vir had known his student's progress.

The magical energy he could control, the number of spells he mastered, and the types of spells he mastered were greater than those of a high leveled magister.

Cultivating an outstanding magister wasn't about burying him in study and research; it meant giving him more opportunities for trials. Belo'vir trusted his student, so he chose to let Leylin carry out the mission.

In the northwest of Silvermoon City, on the east street of the Sunstrider Court, stood a mage tower. This was the residence of Magister Nallorath, Leylin's other mentor.

He politely approached the tower's door and, just as he was about to knock, the golden-trimmed door swung open.

Leylin carefully adjusted his mage robes, loosened his shirt, and stepped inside. The interior of the Mage's Tower was dark. Using the magical fluorescence shimmering from the magic crystals, Leylin reached the top floor.

Similar in structure to Grand Magister Belo'vir's Mage Tower, Leylin reached the top floor with ease.

Magister Nallorath lifted the veil hanging at the entrance for Leylin and smiled at him.

"Hello, Magister Nallorath."

The Magister nodded, "Do as you please, student."

The Magister's room was filled with human daily necessities. From the square table to the wooden chairs, even the drinking vessels, all bore the mark of humanity.

Notably, on the wall of Magister Nallorath's room was an oil painting. It depicted a female human, an elf, and a half-elf.

Looking around, Leylin didn't consider himself an outsider. He sat down.

Nallorath sat across from Leylin and said, "It's been a few days since we last met. Your understanding of magic has progressed even further. I can sense the arcane energy around you, and it tells me you're already very proficient in arcane magic."

Leylin nodded, unfazed. "Teacher, there's still a long way for me to master arcane magic. I've barely entered the profound studies of arcane manipulation. There are still so much to learn in regards to arcane magic."

Magister Nallorath's piercing gaze lingered on Leylin as he gestured gracefully towards the young mage, an invitation wrapped in silent challenge. The ancient wizard's robes shimmered subtly with arcane sigils, and his hands moved with practiced ease, beckoning Leylin to demonstrate his burgeoning mastery.

"Go ahead, Leylin," Nallorath said calmly, his voice resonating with a mix of curiosity and authority. "Show me what you've learned. Cast any arcane spell you deem fit."

Leylin took a steadying breath, feeling the weight of the moment. His new mage robes, crafted with care and imbued with his own understanding, felt like a second skin—ready to channel his magic.

He closed his eyes briefly, visualizing the spell he wanted to perform. Then, with a flick of his hand and a whispered incantation, a gentle glow emanated from his fingertips—first a soft, shimmering light, then coalescing into a small orb of swirling energy.

The arcane orbs floated gracefully between his palms, pulsating with raw arcane power. Leylin's voice resonated as he cast, [Arcane Missile]. The orbs suddenly circling around Leylin's body.

A normal [Arcane Missile] has 4 arcane orbs while Linley have 8 arcane orbs showcasing the spell's proficiency. It was a simple spell, yet to Nallorath, it was a testament to Leylin's control and understanding of his magic—an indication that his efforts and his studies were paying off.

The old mage's eyes twinkled with a hint of approval. "Excellent." Nallorath stood up and flipped through the books on the shelf. "Well, that's good enough." Unlike those on Grand Magister Belo'vir's shelf, these books had a slightly rougher paper and a simpler binding.

He opened a book to the designated page and placed it in front of Leylin. It was human writing. Leylin paused in surprise before beginning to read.

The book contained a summary of the arcane studies that are still in a theoretical phase. But the ideas written in it are unorthodox. Showing another different method in the proficiency of arcane magic. Some ideas are even more advanced than what Leylin studied from Grand Magister Belo'vir's notebook.

During the two-hour magic studies, the teacher is amazed at Linley's innovate ideas regarding his mastery of arcane energy.

Nallorath silently thought, "No wonder, Belo'vir said it would only take a few years for him till could reach that level."

At night, Nallorath invited Leylin to have dinner in the Mage Tower.

During dinner, Leylin asked the teacher about the mission that the ranger would perform next week.

Nallorath was not curious about how Leylin knew the details of the mission. He agreed with Leylin's idea, but he put forward a condition for Rowling.

"Student, I know you have a close relationship with the Windrunner rangers, and it's understandable that you want to help. However, you have to show a certain level of strength. This is the guarantee for you to complete the mission."

Leylin frowned and asked, "What are the specific requirements, teacher?"

Nallorath stretched out his left palm and right index finger, and said, "Achieve the rank magister, and you will be qualified to carry out the mission with the affiliated mages of the Silver Moon Council."

Leylin smiled confidently, "This shouldn't be a problem teacher, both you and Grand Magister Belo'vir knows my magical prowess."

Nallorath cut another plate of spider meat and pushed it in front of Leylin, "Let's eat first, and leave the specific details to the mentor."
