Chapter 122 - Chapter 122 The Banquet

The nights in Silvermoon City were always so beautiful, like a perfect work of art. The purple starry sky, dotted with glittering starlight, illuminated this city bathed in magical light.

Under the warm moonlight, the Ranger Captain, dragging her weary body, pushed open the door. A long-lost warmth enveloped her, and she happily walked into the hall.

"Big sister, I missed you so much!" Vereesa put down the turtle soup she was holding, ran over, and hugged Alleria tightly.

Looking at the sumptuous banquet on the table, Alleria asked her younger sister, "Are there any guests today?"

Sylvanas pointed to the mage sitting on the bench and said, "Leylin told us that big sister was coming back, so we prepared a sumptuous dinner."

Alleria secretly glanced at Leylin, her face slightly flushed. Things were different now; seeing Leylin in her own home always felt a little strange.

Leylin kept smiling, looking at Alleria with tenderness in his eyes. He made no attempt to hide his feelings, which flustered Alleria.

Was this guy trying to embarrass me in front of my sisters?

After everyone was seated, Alleria and Vereesa sat on either side of Leylin, while Sylvanas sat opposite him.

"Where's Lirath?" Alleria asked, looking at the extra empty chair at the table.

Vereesa said, "That brat has been working in Sunsail Anchorage these past few days, eating and sleeping there. I went to see him a few days ago and saw him with a beautiful female elf; they must be in love."

Alleria remained silent, as if she had done something wrong, opening about the topic of romance during their dinner.

Sylvanas, noticing her eldest sister's unusual behavior, asked, "Big sister, Lirath's in love now. Aren't you going to say anything? Although our Windrunner family doesn't like political marriages, at least he should respect the opinions of us three sisters."

Alleria smiled and said, "Love is a matter of personal freedom; we shouldn't interfere."

Vereesa pouted, somewhat displeased, and said, "Then why did you interfere with my relationship with Leylin before? You wouldn't even let me go see Leylin. And my second sister, she makes things difficult for Leylin every day; it breaks my heart."

Sylvanas snorted coldly, "Don't talk nonsense. I was just doing my job. Who wanted to make things difficult for him?"

Alleria looked at Leylin awkwardly, her heart pounding. She didn't know how to tell him about her relationship with Leylin. To be honest, she felt guilty towards her younger sister, Vereesa.

Although monogamy wasn't a rule in elven society, as the eldest sister, she knew her younger sister's feelings very well.

It was all this guy's fault! Alleria didn't want to talk about this; she trusted Leylin, and of course, only Leylin could explain the situation clearly.

Sylvanas looked at Leylin, who had been silent all night and only focused on eating, and asked, "And you, Leylin, what are your thoughts on the problem of Lirath?"

Leylin tacitly said, "I share Alleria's view that love is a matter of freedom. Don't force it; just be happy."

Vereesa nodded, echoing Leylin's words: "As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. Love is such a wonderful thing, why worry about so much? Don't you agree, Second Sister?"

Sylvanas glanced at Leylin's reaction out of the corner of her eye and noticed that he kept smiling. She didn't know why, but when she couldn't see him, she always felt something was missing; yet when she saw him, she felt annoyed and had an urge to punch him.

"I've never been in love, so I don't understand it at all." Sylvanas said sternly.

Alleria was more embarrassed than her two sisters, so she remained silent and didn't say anything.

For a moment, the banquet was completely silent, save for the sounds of chewing food and the clinking of cutlery. This wasn't like the Windrunner family at all.

Having eaten here twice already, Leylin knew he was the one who'd created this awkward, chilly atmosphere. He said, "Let's play a game. That'll lighten the mood."

Vereesa looked at Leylin eagerly, saying, "Tell us, tell us!"

Leylin used arcane magic to create four arcane orbs out of thin air. Then, he embedded a small amount of fire magic into one of the orbs.

Deactivating his senses of magic, Leylin said, "Everyone close your eyes. No peeking."

Sylvanas scoffed at the seemingly silly game, but she closed her eyes anyway. He spun the arcane orbs, making them spin in the air, scrambling their order and position. Then, Leylin told the three sisters to open their eyes.

"Everyone picks one. I'll pick one too." Leylin said.

Each ranger took an orb from the air, and the three sisters looked at the identical-looking orbs and held them in their hands.

"And then?" Alleria asked.

With a snap of her fingers, the arcane energy dissipated, leaving only a wisp of fire element floating in Sylvanas's hand. Vereesa, Alleria, and Leylin himself held nothing.

Seeing Sylvanas's hand shimmering with fire, Leylin knew that this was the first time she would have to complete the game herself.

"How do I play?" Sylvanas had a bad feeling.

Leylin said to Vereesa, "Vereesa, you can ask your elder sister a question and have her answer it. If she refuses, you make her do something."

Vereesa, for the first time, had such power, and it was directed at her usually arrogant older sister. She exclaimed happily, "Second sister, you're doomed!"

"What kind of game is this? It's so unfair! I don't want to play anymore!" Sylvanas frowned, her voice urgent.

Leylin wasn't in a hurry. He coldly said, "A ranger general who's too scared to even play a game? Forget it, let's start over, the three of us."

"Who said that!" Even though she knew Leylin was using reverse psychology, Sylvanas willingly fell for it.

Vereesa smiled mischievously, "Second sister, do you like Leylin?"

Sylvanas's shoulders trembled slightly, her slender body stiffening for a second. She shook her head and refused, "I refuse to answer."

Vereesa pouted and said, "Then go kiss Leylin, wherever you want."

Sylvanas's fork was almost cutting the plate. She looked to Alleria for help, only to find that her eldest sister was also expecting her to complete this special task.

This is insane! What kind of bullshit game is this bastard playing? Putting down her cutlery, Sylvanas stood up and slowly walked to Leylin.

Looking at Leylin's smile, she closed her eyes and slowly lowered her head.

'Little sister, this is your man, aren't you going to stop me?' Sylvanas cried out in her heart.

Slowly, she felt the warmth emanating from this bastard's face. As if by some extra magic, Sylvanas seemed to lose her mind, her brain heating up, and she instinctively offered her cherry lips to him.
