Chapter 124 - Chapter 124 Protection

Two days later, Leylin, as a member of the Silvermoon Council, once again arrived in the Ghostlands. Another mission has been arranged to be completed by him.

Since the trolls marched south, the forests of the Ghostlands had been freed from the influence of troll sorcery. Under the radiance of the Sunwell, this tranquil forest was becoming more and more like Eversong Forest.

Of course, to make this beautiful elven land even safer, they had an important task here: to strengthen the energy network deployed throughout Quel'Thalas by the Sunwell and to enhance the defenses of the magical barriers.

This strengthening work was on a completely different level from the strengthening work done during the previous troll war. The members participating in this strengthening mission were almost all the high-ranking magisters in Silvermoon City.

"The calculation is accurate; it's at this location, Teacher." The coordinates of Leylin's position appeared on the miniature magical sandbox in Leylin's hand.

Grand Magister Belo'vir nodded and walked to Leylin's location. Then, he drew a teleportation circle on the meadow.

Through the unique communication method between mages, Magister Senethir, far away in Quel'Danas, stood outside the Sunwell and teleported the fully charged runestones to Grand Magister Belo'vir's location.

Arcane energy swirled, and the teleportation array glowed with a purple light. A minute passed, and the teleportation spell ended. Magister Senethir teleported the runestone, over two meters tall, to where Roland stood.

"Begin connecting to the energy network," said Belo'vir.

Leylin pressed his hands tightly against the runestone, sensing the energy channels above the Ghostlands. Over the past two days, he had studied the energy network above Quel'Thalas extensively.

Belo'vir had explained the energy transmission method of the Sunwell and the composition of its key components; Leylin had listened attentively and learned quickly. He connected one of the energy channels of the energy network above the sky to the runestone.

Grand Magister Belo'vir began his work, using the magical energy within his body to fuse with the arcane energy of the Sunwell.

This process was extremely difficult; the magical energy of the Sunwell and Grand Magister Belo'vir's own magical energy were vastly different, and the two energies repelled each other.

Although it seemed difficult, Belo'vir persisted; he had done this many times before. Assimilating the energy and activating the runestones was difficult.

Unlike the previous runestone placement, this time the purpose was to expand the arcane barrier's protection. It was no longer against the trolls' sorcery, but against the Horde's orcish army.

"Teacher, I think I can speed up this task." Unlike his teacher, Leylin could also utilize the energy of the Sunwell. He had previously experimented and attempted to connect his body to the Sunwell's energy and successfully used it. His [Sage Body] had a high compatibility with the Sunwell's energy.

Belo'vir methodically carried out the energy assimilation work, the purple arcane circle floating on the runestones. He shook his head and said, "No, the negative effects are too great. We discussed this issue before; we can't rashly utilize the Sunwell's energy."

Leylin nodded and continued, "Teacher, I can try not to integrate the energy into my body, but simply control it. I think with my current mastery, I should be able to complete it."

Belo'vir pondered for a moment; he understood that his student had mastered the method of energy assimilation he had just used. Removing the arcane circle on his left hand, Belo'vir gestured for his student to take over his work.

Using his mastery, Leylin channeled the energy of the Sunwell above into his control. Although this arcane energy desperately wanted to enter his body, Leylin's own arcane energy instinctively resisted it.

Having solved this problem, Leylin could quickly utilize the properties of the Sunwell's energy. Activating the runestone directly with the Sunwell's energy was much faster than his teacher using his own energy to assimilate and activate it.

Three minutes later, the magical runes on the runestone began to glow with a pale blue light. After the runestone was activated, a long, narrow, purple barrier, resembling the night sky, connected to the runestone at the edge of Eversong Forest.

The placement of the first runestone was thus completed.

While observing the student's progress, Belo'vir said with satisfaction, "Your arcane mastery is quite proficient, student. However, aside from today's mission, you cannot rashly use the Sunwell's energy, nor can you reveal this magical characteristic of yours. Understand?"

"Understood teacher."

An hour later, at the next coordinate, Leylin activated the runestone again. After a day, Leylin and Belo'vir had activated all six runestones.

This was faster than those magisters within Silvermoon Council and the Magister's Association. On the first day of the mission, the arcane barrier of the entire Ghostlands was taking shape, connecting to the energy veins in the sky, and the entire Ghostlands was protected by a huge spherical magical barrier.

There was still one day left in the mission, and the work on the second day was to repair and improve the magical barrier.

This mission had consumed all the reserve resources of Quel'Danas Island, and all the spare runestones had been used up. Many mages overdrawn their own magical energy to expand and build new arcane magical barriers.

After a whole day of energy mobilization, Leylin could clearly feel the energy surge of the arcane energy due to manipulating the Sunwell's energy. And with it, came another surprise which enhanced Leylin's magical capacity.

However, Leylin wasn't in a hurry to advance; he needed to return to Tranquillien first. He hadn't eaten all day and was very hungry.

Upon returning to Tranquillien, the two magisters went to the runestone located near Tranquillien. This runestone served as the central connection point for the entire area, and the two magisters would go there to further check and test the stability of the magical energy.

Leylin wasn't very familiar with the mages here. He could only lean against the wall of the elven hut, all alone, waiting for food to be distributed.

Leylin had originally wanted to go to the Sanctum of the Sun, where Aminel and Tyr'ganal were. However, he needed to accompany his mentor on a mission, so he had to stay in Tranquillien by himself.

Fortunately, the food arrived. Leylin, ravenously hungry, watched as a slender, tall elven girl in tight-fitting clothes approached.

"Your Excellency, this is your bread and water," the elven girl said, handing Leylin a plate.

Leylin took the food. However, Leylin seemed to sense that two pairs of eyes were watching the bread. Glancing up at the girl's slightly pale lips, Leylin understood.

Dividing it into two portions, Leylin handed one to the elven girl, saying, "Eat, don't be shy."
