Wearing the most charming smile ever, Elena stepped into her boss's office holding a tray of cookies and a steaming mug of coffee.
"Mr Treshvire, your coffee." She carefully placed the tray before him. "I hope it meets your taste."
Kaleb regarded her with one arched brow. "Hmm...it smells… interesting." He slowly picked up the mug and lifted the cup halfway while Elena watched with a masked, devilish grin.
Kaleb paused a few inches away from his lips, his sharp gaze flicking toward Elena's face.
"You look unusually calm, Miss Baker... almost suspicious. Did you by any chance spit in my coffee?"
"What?!" Elena's lips twitched. "Of course not, sir. I'm not that petty."
"Miss Baker is a decent employee, Mr Treshvire," Douglas added. "If you want, she could take a sip to prove her integrity."
Elena's heart skipped a bit at her boss's suggestions. She hadn't factored that part out in her revenge mission.
