Chapter 105: Appointing Satoru as Commander!
"Sōsuke-Doraemon, help me out!"
Under Aizen's puzzled gaze, Satoru dragged him to a secluded corner.
After activating the soundproof barrier, Satoru recounted his visit to the Kuchiki family to Aizen in detail.
Once finished, he flashed a sycophantic grin: "Hey hey, Sōsuke-Doraemon, quick—tell me what to do next?"
"With both the Kuchiki and Shihōin noble houses backing me now, taking down the Tsunayashiro clan should be a walk in the park, right?"
Aizen's eye twitched at Satoru's words.
"...The laws of the Soul Society have remained unchanged for a million years."
"No matter how ugly the behind-the-scenes struggles get, open warfare would never be tolerated."
"Even if you allied with all four great noble houses, they'd never agree to a direct assault on the Tsunayashiro family."
Satoru made a face of irritation.
"Ugh, nobles are so damn stupid."
"Sōsuke, hurry up and get stronger so you can crush them all."
"Then we'll send the men to work in your labs and keep the women for ourselves!"
Aizen: "..."
He took a deep breath to suppress his rising blood pressure.
Ignoring Satoru's nonsense, he adopted a thoughtful expression.
After a moment, he nodded.
"I've got it."
"After meeting with the Captain-Commander, you should say this..."
...
"Teacher! Old man! Captain-Commander!!"
At the booming voice, Chōjirō Sasakibe—who'd been watering plants—pressed a hand to his forehead.
Straightening up with watering can in hand, he glared toward the approaching Satoru.
"Lord Satoru, no shouting in the First Division Barracks!"
He delivered the reprimand with stern disapproval.
Satoru gave an exaggerated nod, clamping his mouth shut with comical force.
Then in an exaggerated whisper: "I've got classified intel... need to inform the old man immediately..."
Watching Satoru's ridiculous spy-movie antics, Chōjirō felt his blood pressure spike.
Entering Yamamoto's office, they found the old man reading.
Spotting Satoru, Yamamoto grumbled: "Making all that racket—what catastrophe now?"
Under Yamamoto's gaze, Satoru leaned in and recounted the Kuchiki incident.
Yamamoto's eyebrows rose in genuine surprise.
While he knew Satoru had a talent for stirring up trouble, this level of chaos was impressive even by his standards.
As Yamamoto pondered, Satoru puffed out his chest proudly.
"Teacher, I've devised a brilliant strategy about this!"
Yamamoto side-eyed him.
"Let me guess—ally with Shihōin and Kuchiki to storm Tsunayashiro's compound?"
Satoru choked on air.
"How could you slander your own student like this!"
"Don't judge by appearances—I'm full of brilliant ideas when it counts!"
Under Yamamoto's skeptical gaze, he laid out Aizen's proposed plan verbatim.
Initially, Yamamoto listened with half-lidded eyes, merely humoring him.
But gradually, genuine surprise flickered in those aged eyes.
By the end, Yamamoto's eyes were wide open.
"Boy... you came up with this?"
Satoru smirked. "The one and only."
He delivered the lie without a shred of guilt.
First of all, Aizen absolutely didn't want to take credit for this. He wished all his ideas could be attributed to someone else as scapegoats.
Therefore, the one who guided Aizen's thoughts and ultimately led to this plan naturally became the sole owner of its authorship rights!
Seeing Satoru's smug expression, Yamamoto looked suspicious.
However, after careful consideration, he realized that none of the people around Satoru seemed clever enough to come up with such an idea.
After pondering for a while, he nodded.
"Not bad. If we follow this method, our chances of winning will be very high."
With that, he closed his eyes.
Satoru could sense some kind of spiritual pressure-wrapped message leaving Yamamoto and swiftly flying off into the distance.
In less than five minutes, two figures arrived in the room using Flash Steps.
Both were people Satoru recognized.
One was the new captain of the 3rd Division, Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi, with his long golden hair and delicate, submissive demeanor.
The other was the new captain of the 9th Division, Kensei Muguruma, a silver-haired, sharply handsome man.
Compared to their last meeting, both had undergone one obvious change—they were now wearing the white captain haori.
Looking at them, Satoru felt somewhat emotional.
Both were already handsome in their own distinct styles, but now with the captain haori, their attractiveness had skyrocketed.
At this rate, they might even catch up to his own level soon...
"Captain-Commander Yamamoto!"
Upon landing, both immediately bowed respectfully to Yamamoto.
Yamamoto gave a slight nod.
Then he spoke:
"Satoru, effective immediately, I appoint you as the commander of the Special Operations Unit."
"Upon receiving this appointment, you shall possess Class-A operational authority!"
Hearing this, Satoru was somewhat surprised.
The other two, however, couldn't help but reveal expressions of shock.
Class-A authority… and a Special Operations Unit at that?
In a way, for the duration of this authority's validity, Satoru's influence within the Gotei 13 would be second only to Captain-Commander Yamamoto himself!
What kind of major incident had occurred? Why would the Captain-Commander issue such authority?
Then, Yamamoto continued:
"Captain of the 3rd Division, Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi."
"Captain of the 9th Division, Kensei Muguruma."
"The two of you shall join Satoru's Special Operations Unit and follow his command."
Without hesitation, the two responded, "Understood!!"
When they raised their heads again, their gazes toward Satoru had grown somewhat peculiar.
After receiving their orders, the three left the 1st Division barracks together.
Rōjūrō lowered his voice. "Uh, well… Commander Satoru, what exactly are we supposed to do next?"
What he really wanted to ask was what this Special Operations Unit was even for.
But unless Satoru brought it up himself, he didn't dare pry.
Satoru swaggered ahead before glancing back at him.
After a moment's thought, he spoke:
"Captain Ōtoribashi, how's your Shunpo?"
Rōjūrō answered without hesitation, "Rest assured, I practice diligently every day!"
Satoru nodded in satisfaction. "Good. Then head to West District 12 of Rukongai and buy me some dango."
"Make sure it's from Nanatsumiya—I like theirs best."
Rōjūrō: "…?"
He opened his mouth, wanting to ask if Satoru was serious.
But then, it suddenly dawned on him.
No, this must be some kind of code.
When he went to buy the dango, he would surely receive some sort of intelligence!
With this realization, his eyes lit up, and he nodded firmly.
"Understood. You can count on me, Commander Satoru!"
