Chapter 110 - Chapter 110

Chapter 110: Ōmaeda Reigns Supreme!

As Kōga uttered the release command, countless purple threads of spiritual energy erupted from his body.

These threads pierced the bodies of the Tsunayashiro Shinigami at blinding speed.

The moment the threads connected, the Tsunayashiro forces stiffened unnaturally.

Then, something bizarre occurred.

Under the stunned gazes of the Shinigami, their Zanpakutō were forcibly dragging their arms to slash at their own comrades!

In an instant, screams of agony, cries of terror, and curses turned the battlefield into a living hell.

Witnessing the scene before her, Yoruichi couldn't help but widen her eyes.

Even Ōmaeda, a seasoned vice-captain accustomed to grand spectacles, felt a chill run down his spine.

Just imagine the despair if it were his own Zanpakutō being manipulated... Tsk tsk.

Ōmaeda wiped the sweat from his brow with a trembling hand.

Seeing Kōga poised to cut down everyone in sight, Satoru quickly grabbed his arm.

"Enough, enough! Brother, calm down!"

The expressionless Kōga suddenly snapped back to reality, his eyes flickering with awareness.

Taking in the chaotic scene before him, his heart skipped a beat, and he hastily withdrew the power of his Zanpakutō.

This wasn't a life-or-death battlefield—going too far would make it impossible to resolve peacefully.

The first thought that flashed through his mind wasn't how to explain himself.

Instead, he imagined the stern reprimand awaiting him from his father-in-law upon returning.

The frosty countenance of Ginrei Kuchiki loomed in his mind, making his breath hitch with unease.

Meanwhile, Satoru, after pulling him back, immediately stepped forward with a stern expression:

"Lord Tsunayashiro! What is the meaning of this?!"

"We welcomed you with courtesy, yet you resort to violence!"

"Such brutality—does it befit a noble of your standing?!"

Yoruichi also stepped up, placing a hand on her hip.

"Exactly! You'd better give us a proper explanation today!"

Hearing this, Takatori's face darkened.

In broad daylight, he had led over a hundred men to attack high-ranking members of the Shihōin and Kuchiki families.

If this matter were to spread, it would greatly damage his reputation.

He was responsible for the family business, and a tarnished reputation would be quite detrimental.

Thinking this, he opened his mouth, ready to offer some explanation.

But just as the words were about to leave his lips, he suddenly realized something.

Staring at Satoru, who looked utterly unapologetic, he couldn't help but widen his eyes.

"Damn it! It was the Shihōin—it was you who attacked me first! How did this turn into me being the aggressor?"

Hearing this, Yoruichi blinked in surprise and turned to look at Satoru.

Satoru blinked back, then coughed lightly.

"Well, since it's come to this, let's both take a step back."

"Let's just pretend today's incident never happened."

Takatori: "?"

His blood pressure spiked.

This damn brat—did he even understand what "taking a step back" meant?

Recalling the earlier events, the one who had clearly gone too far was Kōga Kuchiki.

If Satoru hadn't intervened in time, dozens of his men would likely have died.

As fellow top-tier nobles, to strike so ruthlessly without holding back—if he had been the first to demand an explanation, he could have at least made Kuchiki suffer some consequences.

But now, with Satoru cutting in like this, the thread of the argument was completely lost.

By now, a crowd of onlookers had begun to gather in the distance.

The Ōmaeda residence was located at the edge of the noble district, and many of the people here were influential figures. Continuing to make a scene would only harm his own interests.

After a few seconds of contemplation, Takatori grinned.

"Fine, let's both take a step back…"

"Today's discussion has been… enlightening, Takatori."

"If the opportunity arises in the future, I'd love to invite Lord Shihōin and Lord Kuchiki for a drink!"

As he spoke, he deliberately ignored Satoru, who was not of noble birth.

Yoruichi raised an eyebrow and opened her mouth to say something.

Satoru stopped her with a shake of his head.

Once Takatori and his men had left, Marenoshin grinned broadly.

"That was satisfying! Tsunayashiro Takatori, who usually looks down his nose at everyone, actually got put in his place for once!"

Satoru chuckled. "Uncle Marenoshin, the way you charged into the enemy ranks and started throwing punches was pretty cool."

"Oh? Hahaha, you flatter me, you flatter me! It was nothing special!"

Marenoshin laughed heartily. "Don't let my appearance fool you—my Hakuda skills are among the best in the Second Division!"

"If that bastard hadn't ambushed me during the prison attack, I'd have definitely left him with a souvenir!"

Satoru nodded.

Marenoshin wasn't exaggerating.

Among the vice-captains, he was undoubtedly a top-tier fighter.

On top of that, his sturdy physique gave him an exceptionally high endurance.

Even a captain like Yasushi Takada, who specialized in defense over offense, would have a hard time taking him down head-on.

After chatting with Marenoshin, Satoru turned to Kōga.

Only to find the latter staring straight at him.

Satoru froze for a moment, then his entire body tensed as if a switch had been flipped—his guard instantly shot up to maximum alert!

A surge of spiritual particles erupted from the artificial soul orb he carried, flooding into his body and tightly encasing his memories and soul.

Only after completing this did he relax slightly.

"Uh… Brother Kōga, is something wrong?" Satoru asked.

Kōga silently observed the changes in his aura.

A few seconds later, he nodded and said, "Regarding how the Kuchiki family should cooperate next, I'd like to confirm some details."

Satoru breathed a sigh of relief and invited Kōga to the conference room to discuss the next steps.

Just then, he felt a tug on his sleeve.

Turning around, he saw Kisuke standing behind him with a grave expression.

Kisuke leaned in and whispered:

"Satoru-san, be careful with that man."

"Though I'm not certain why, my instincts tell me he's dangerous."

Satoru rolled his eyes.

"By the time you warned me, it'd be too late."

"Relax, your and Tessai's little notebook is safely sealed deep in my memories—I'm desperately trying to forget it."

Kisuke: "...?"

What nonsense is this?

...

...

Entering the conference room, Yoruichi immediately looked at Satoru eagerly.

"Satoru! Did you set up the Kidō?"

Satoru nodded.

"Don't worry, I've mastered this technique—planted it right under his skin. Unless he goes home and immediately gets a full-body scan from a Vice-Kidō Chief-level expert, there's no way he'll find it!"

Hearing this, everyone's eyes lit up.

"Ōmaeda-san, how's the progress on taking over the Tsunayashiro family's businesses in Rukongai?"

Marenoshin gave a thumbs-up:

"Relax! When it comes to noble disputes, I might not be the best, but in business? There isn't a single family in the entire Soul Society that can beat the Ōmaedas!"

Under everyone's gaze, he spread one hand open and covered it with a single finger from the other.

"Sixty percent!"

"Aside from critical sectors like medicine and weapons, I've already taken over sixty percent of their supply lines!"

"Unless Tsunayashiro Taketori sends someone to kill me tonight, he's finished!"
