Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Red Eastern Guild Leader

*Flip. Flip. Flip.*

Dwang Sung, the leader of the Red-Easter guild himself, flipped through the pages of the newly printed newspaper while sipping the coffee from the cup in his right hand.

"Is that so... Someone successfully contracted a beast from the demon plain."

"Y... Yes... Mm... Master Sung."

His personal servant, who had brought the newspaper to him, remained in his bowing position as he spoke.

Ming Fan had served the master for over a decade, even since before he created the Red-Eastern guild, yet master Sung's presence still made his knees weak and his voice tremble.

There was something about being in the same room as a man who contracted with four red-marked familiars that made even the most hotheaded men tremble.

"And his summon is?" Dwang Sung asked, taking another sip of his coffee.

The newspaper now lay flat on his lap after he dropped it, the headline screaming up at him in bold letters: "DEMON PLAIN CONTRACTOR DEVASTATES FSG BASE."

"His summon is still undisclosed. According to the report, it is said that the FSG of the United Kingdom took him to question and measure his power level to confirm if he truly contracted a beast from the demon plain," his personal servant, Ming Fan, spoke.

"Is that so... Then I'll be visiting the base to extract all the information I need." Dwang Sung gulped down all the remaining coffee from the cup and placed it on the coffee table in front of him.

His silk robe, the color of burnished gold, caught the light as he stood up majestically and made his way out of the room.

"That's the problem master! you won't be able to extract the information."

Dwang Sung's eyes widened the moment he heard the last statement.

Ming Fan had spent the entire morning gathering this information about the recent news on the demon contractor, calling in favors from his most reliable across the city and even from the FSG itself and he knew tyat much as a conclusion.

Dwang Sung turned his head slightly to the side, just enough to reveal the sharp profile of his facial and one gleaming red eye that screamed seriousness.

It was in short, the look a wolf gives when it hears a twig snap nearby.

"And why would you assume that?" master Sung inquired in a deceptive soft tone.

"Because the base was destroyed." Ming Fan's voice cracked slightly. "Half of the entire base has been brought down."

Dwang Sung's eyes widened as he heard the last statement but then his composure return back quickly.

Calmly walking back to his chair, Dwang Sung lowered himself to his chair.

"Give me more details," Dwang Sung inquired as he sat.

With a nod, Ming Fan began, "Yesterday, in the morning hours, the FSG base sent out some of its high-ranking members, including Lucian, towards the young man allegedly assumed to be the contractor of a beast from the demon plain."

On hearing Lucian's name, Dwang Sung nodded slowly. He could recall that Lucian was a capable one from their last confrontation, about a year ago.

"They got to the house of this young man, whose name is Ryder, to restrain him and take him in for questioning and confirmation, the reason being that he was also assumed to have committed a number of crimes through rumors.

On getting to his house, they struggled back and forth before he finally agreed to come with them."

Dwang Sung raised an eyebrow at this. 'A contractor powerful enough to summon a familiar from the demon plain, yet willing to go quietly? Interesting.'

"On getting to the FSG base, he was questioned and he answered truthfully and freely, without holding any information back.

They all began to see him in a positive light, but then all of a sudden, he turned on them and destroyed the FSG base with a massive explosion.

Twenty-one summoners were fatally injured in this explosion.... "

Master Sung was frozen for a moment, but the next moment he began to chuckle softly. "This Ryder guy just got himself into a big mess.

Even though he was black-marked, he shouldn't have messed with a governmental organization with strings that reached into every corner of the summoning world."

The penalty for hurting a single FSG member, even by just a scratch, was death. Ryder had fatally injured twenty-one FSG members. The math wasn't difficult.

"If I may ask, where exactly did you extract this information from?" Dwang Sung couldn't help but ask.

He wasn't asking because he was doubting the information he received from his personal servant, Ming Fan, but he asked because he wanted to know the exact source of this information.

"It came from Lucian himself." Ming Fan straighten slightly with his chest puffed out in pride. "Commander Lucian from the FSG."

It wasn't a strange occurrence for the Red-Easter guild to be receiving information from Lucian, it was no surprise.

The Red-Easter guild was one of the guilds with the closest relationship to the United Kingdom FSG base, out of all other guilds in the whole planet Terra.

Dwang Sung, being the leader of the Red-Eastern guild, was building up connections from various countries around the world to his guild.

Hearing that the information came from Lucian himself, who was a really great ally, gave Dwang Sung absolute assurance on the whole story.

"It's a good thing I am in this country at the moment." Dwang Sung stood up again and walked towards the door of the room, while Ming Fan followed right behind.

'This country is proving to be quite interesting right now,' Dwang Sung thought as they made their way down the hallway. 'I was planning to leave this country, the United Kingdom, by the weekend, but I guess I'll have to extend the date to some other time'

"Ming Fan, go gather some more information about Ryder Levi, I will walk alone."

"Yes, Master Sung."

Ming Fan then departed from Master Sung.

Master Sung, on the other hand, had a smile on his face as he walked down the stairs toward the exit of the hotel he was in.

Once outside, his personal butler was already waiting. He opened the door on the Rolls-Royce for him to get in before shutting it.

Dwang Sung instructed while they were inside, "Take me to the FSG base, right now."

With that, they drove off.

The white Rolls-Royce finally came to a halt at the gate of the FSG base. Opening the door, the red interior sparkled, attracting attention from even the people walking behind the locked gate of the FSG base.

From the outside, the building looked deceptively ordinary—a modern set of buildings, tall and short with tinted windows and the towering walls that bounded the entire base.

Dwang Sung made his grand exit from his car and his grand entrance into the base.

His golden robe glittered as he walked gracefully into the base and passed the FSG agents who bowed their heads in respect to greet him.

The entrance of the building looked intact, Dwang Sung observed as he stepped in.

The sparkling white interior, marble floors, high ceilings, abstract sculptures that subtly acts as a memento to summoning history was jaw-dropping for most, but not Dwang Sung who lived his whole life in the lap of luxury.

Walking through the nearest hallway toward Dwang Sung was Lucian.

Upon reaching him, the two smiled warmly at each other with a handshake.

Unlike the others who bowed down to greet Dwang Sung, Lucian was more privileged and respected by him than any member of the FSG should be.

"It's been a while, Sung," Lucian greeted warmly. "What a pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasure is all mine," Dwang Sung responded with a friendly laugh.

"If I may ask, what brought you here?" Lucian asked. "Do you have any urgent business in mind?"

"No, no, I came here just for a little visit. I heard about the catastrophic incident that occurred here yesterday. That got me curious, so I decided to pay you a visit."

Lucian forced a smile on his face that didn't help in the slightest to mask his pain.

Pulling the sleeve of his shirt upwards, he unveiled the injuries on his left arm.

His arm was in bandages.

"A good portion of my flesh was crushed and ripped off when this base collapsed. The impact was so fatal that you would be able to see my bones."

"Oh my, that is so bad," said Dwang Sung in a flat tone, that didn't show any pity or sympathy whatsoever at all.

"Yeah. It will heal soon, my familiars has incredible healing and regeneration capabilities that would heal wounds of this nature in a short while."

A grin spread across Dwang Sung's face. As expected, you tamed quite a familiar, after all.

Turning around, Lucian spoke, "Come with me, I find it disrespectful to keep you standing."

"No no, it's okay." He dismissed. "Bt I'll really recommend the efficiency of this organization.

I heard this base was destroyed, you guys were quite quick with reforming it, i can hardly believe this entire base collapsed."

"This entire base never collapsed." Lucian corrected." "But a good chunk of it did—about half of it, according to our rough estimation."

"Oh, now it makes sense. So, where are we heading to?" Dwang Sung inquired.

"To the destroyed fraction of the building, it is still under repair though."

"I did explain the entire event to Ming Fan, I believe he told you," Lucian spoke in a cold, slow tone, causing Dwang Sung to smirk.

"Yes, he did."
