[Reyes' Safehouse – Outskirts of Western Pennsylvania]
The bags were packed. Drives wiped. Neural routers burned. Every trace of Lunel's presence had been erased with the precision of a scalpel.
Aylin stood at the window, her body rigid.
"Now," she said to Reyes, "we vanish. You change your base. Change your name if you have to. Wipe everything. Alpha's not playing chess anymore he's throwing knives."
Reyes, ever silent and calculating, nodded once.
Outside, his five guards stood on alert trained like shadows, loyal like wolves. Each one had enough combat training to take down a small unit alone. One man, ten men's worth of skill.
Then the silence cracked.
Five black SUVs screeched to a stop at the perimeter.
Aylin didn't even blink.
She stared through the slit in the curtain. "Alpha," she said coldly. "But where's Selina?"
She turned to Reyes.
"Something's wrong."
