Drip. Drip.
Blood dyed the sea a dark crimson. Even ten thousand meters beneath the ocean, at Fish-Man Island, the battlefield was terrifying. The landing harbor was stained red, and the color spread through the giant bubbles into the surrounding sea.
"Kill!"
"Kill!"
Under Gawain's command, the ten-thousand-strong Fish-Man Knight Corps launched what could only be described as a massacre. Again and again the battles escalated, merciless slaughter from beginning to end.
Anyone who dared approach Fish-Man Island at this time would face nothing but annihilation. No words. No hesitation. Only killing.
The terror had only just begun. No one knew how long the slaughter would continue—unless Gawain and his forces were defeated, or the invaders were completely broken in spirit.
"Ahhh!"
"Help!"
"They're monsters!"
The pirates screamed in despair, their faces twisted with fear. These knights moved like war machines—emotionless, relentless, cutting them down as if they were nothing but straw.
The war had lasted nearly twenty days. Pirates, slave traders, and underworld forces poured into the seas—but their numbers meant nothing. They were simply too weak.
Wave after wave was crushed. Gawain and the knights displayed overwhelming power, shattering both bodies and morale.
After exactly one month, the invaders finally broke. None dared advance another step.
Gawain stood on a hillside, sword in hand. His eyes—usually gentle, now carried the color of blood.
"One month," he said sharply. "This war has lasted one month. Do not hesitate. Continue forward. Victory will be ours."
A thunderous roar answered him. After a month of brutal warfare, the knights had shed their status as recruits. When they could fully control this bloodlust, they would become a true knight corps.
As the fighting subsided, Fish-Man Island slowly returned to peace. Residents felt as if even the air smelled better after a month drenched in blood.
Neptune gazed into the distance. "Is it finally over?"
"We held out," Queen Otohime said gently. "Fish-Man Island will welcome a new future."
Neptune smiled. "Sir Gawain truly did it. Britannia… the King…"
He would never forget the sight of Gawain's light cannons destroying an entire pirate fleet. Without him, Fish-Man Island would never have survived.
"Our thoughts are the same, aren't they?" Otohime asked.
"Yes," Neptune nodded. "If the World Government cannot protect us, then this is the right choice."
He had made up his mind. The Ryugu Kingdom would remain Britannia's vassal forever.
Max soon arrived.
"We must remain vigilant for at least three or four more months," he warned. "We cannot relax yet."
Neptune nodded—and entrusted the command of Fish-Man soldiers to him. The meaning was clear.
"This is the right choice," Max smiled.
Otohime quietly realized something as well. Her dream of coexistence with humans felt naïve. Yet Arthur—the King, remained warm and gentle. That alone gave her peace.
The following months passed.
First month: the fiercest attacks. Gawain fought like a man possessed.
Second month: attacks slowed. Tiger led defensive patrols.
Third month: only reckless pirates dared approach.
Fourth month: peace finally returned.
At the same time, in Britannia—
Ten thousand knights gathered in full armor, spears in hand and swords at their waists. Gareth stood at their head. Three months of preparation had ended. Now came real war.
"Your Majesty trusts me… I will not disappoint you."
As the youngest Round Table Knight, Gareth had longed for the chance to command an army. Now it had arrived.
A projection suddenly appeared—Morgan le Fay.
"My child… you've grown so much."
She gently touched Gareth's cheek, then handed him a wolf-fang necklace.
"This will help you draw out the Wolf God's blessing. Go. Your road is long."
Gareth fought back tears. "Yes, Mother."
As he departed, Morgan turned sharply.
"Arthur, spying again?"
Arthur stepped out with Lamorak, smiling. "Just passing by."
Morgan scoffed and left.
Arthur watched Gareth's departing army.
"Gawain has already made his name known across the world. Now, Gareth… do not disappoint me. Protect those three nations—and grow stronger."
