Ratna stepped into the classroom and her eyes moved over me in one slow, assessing sweep.
They lingered on the way my dupatta was clutched too tightly across my chest, on the flush still colouring my cheeks, on the slight disorder of my transparent kurti. For a moment her gaze dropped to the black bra visible beneath the thin fabric, and something knowing flickered in her expression.
I forced myself to meet her eyes.
"Shalini Madam," she said, her voice polite but edged with curiosity, "aap itni subah school mein?"
I had no choice but to tell a version of the truth.
"I needed to print the test papers. You remember I was working on them yesterday evening when you came to my cabin? I finished setting the questions but forgot to print. Avi and his father left early this morning for his grandparents' place, so I thought I would come early, get the printing done, and finish some pending work. The test is in the first two periods. There was no point going back home when no one is there, so I decided to wait in the classroom."
Ratna listened, then lifted a hand slightly, cutting me off before I could continue. A small, careful smile touched her mouth. She glanced once toward the desk and then back at me.
"Arey, Madam, aap mujhe bol deti. Main print kar deti aapke papers. Aur dekh ke lagta hai aap 6 baje ke around hi aa gayi hongi, sahi?"
I nodded, looking down.
Ratna's voice softened, but there was still that undercurrent of awareness.
"Group message nahi dekha aapne staff wali? Aaj school 9:40 se start hoga. Director aa rahe hain. Assembly 11 baje hogi, aur aaj half day hai. 1 baje tak chhutti ho jaayegi."
My stomach dropped.
I pulled out my phone with slightly unsteady fingers and checked the staff group. The principal's message was there, exactly as Ratna had said. The realisation hit me in a cold wave.
Everything that had happened this morning—the rushed transparent kurti, the aching feet, allowing Rohit under the desk, the way his mouth had felt on my skin, the soft moans I hadn't been able to stop—had all been unnecessary. I could have stayed home for another two hours.
I pressed my fingers to my temple and stared at the wooden surface of the desk.
Ratna stepped closer. Her hand settled lightly on my shoulder. When I looked up, she leaned in so that only I could hear her next words.
"Jo ho gaya so ho gaya, Madam. Ab aap apna kaam khatam kar lo."
Then, even softer, her eyes flicking meaningfully toward my chest and the space beneath the desk:
"Jo adhoora reh gaya hai… usko bhi poora kar lo. Abhi toh koi aane wala nahi. School mein 9 baje tak time hai. Aur aag lagi hai toh usko adhoora chhodna theek nahi. Poori tarah shant karni chahiye. Paani daalne wala bhi hai aapke paas… toh daalwa lo. Jitna andar tak jaaye, utni achhi tarah aag bujhegi. Samjhi?"
Before I could react, she reached out, gently tugged the edge of my kurti and bra aside, and pinched my nipple between her fingers. A sharp, helpless sound left my throat. Ratna smiled, leaned down, and pressed a brief, warm kiss to the curve of my breast.
"Darna mat," she murmured, straightening my clothes again. "Shuruaat tumne nahi ki hogi. Main jaanti hoon. Par ab jab manzoori de di hai… toh poora kar lo."
She turned to leave, then paused at the door.
"Main teesri floor wale room mein so rahi hoongi. Doosri floor par bilkul awaazein aati hain kuch billiyon ki. Agar kuch kaam ho toh phone kar dena, theek hai, Shalini Madam?"
Something reckless and heated rose in me. Before she could step out completely, I heard myself say, voice low:
"Ratna Didi… ek paani ki bottle de dena. Kaam ke baad… pyaas bahut lagti hai."
Ratna looked back. A slow smile spread across her face. She nodded once and left.
I sat frozen, heart pounding.
I had just, in so many words, admitted to her that I intended to continue—and finish—what had started under this desk.
Under the wood, Rohit was still there. I felt the light, continuous movement of his mouth against my foot. When I glanced down, I saw that he was rubbing my bare sole slowly across his lips and nose, breathing me in, occasionally licking the soft cotton of the sock he still held in one hand. The scent he had called nonexistent was clearly something else entirely to him.
Anger and heat warred inside me.
He was not a child. He was eighteen, the same age as my son, and the way he had touched and tasted me had already proven he was far from innocent. My husband had not looked at me with real desire in years. The hunger in my body was real. And Ratna's words kept echoing.
I was still arguing with myself when the door opened again.
Ratna returned carrying a water bottle in one hand and a small plastic bag in the other. She placed the bottle on my desk, then set the bag down more carefully and leaned close.
"Isme condom ka packet hai," she whispered. "Ek dildo, thoda wax, aur ek transparent crotchless panty with pantyhose. Condom abhi use kar lena. Lekin jab school ke baad teesri floor par mere room aana… toh yahi pehen ke aana. Mujhe tumhe is dress mein dekhne ki bahut ichha hai. Kab se."
I stared at her, stunned.
Ratna only smiled, reached out once more, and gently sucked my nipple through the thin fabric of the bra for a brief second.
"Meetha hai," she murmured, then turned and left for good, closing the door behind her.
Silence returned to the classroom.
I sat there, pulse still racing, the plastic bag sitting on the edge of my desk like a quiet accusation. Below, I felt movement. When I looked down, Rohit had begun trying to push my white leggings higher up my thighs.
The sight of him—flushed, breathing hard, still half-hidden under my desk, hands on my legs—sent a strange, dark amusement through me.
He was no child.
The thought settled firmly this time.
I caught his eyes and slowly raised one finger to my lips, signalling silence. Then I stood, walked to the classroom door, and locked it from the inside. When I returned to my chair, I sat down deliberately, met his gaze, and began to slide my leggings downward again—slowly, intentionally—watching his reaction the entire time.
I already knew.
Whatever happened next would change everything.
