After getting the food ready and sitting at the dining table, they started to eat.
But suddenly, a loud banging sound came from the living room. Damien quickly stood up and went there.
He noticed the sound was coming from near a bookshelf. At first, it looked normal, but the shelf began to shake slightly. Damien pushed it, and to his surprise, the bookshelf slid to the right on its own, revealing a hidden space behind it.
He instantly backed up, hand on his sword. From the secret compartment, a figure slowly stepped out.
It was a woman with long hair, a mature body, wide hips, and a well-shaped chest. She was dressed in a professional suit and skirt, clearly wearing luxury brands, though now dusty and wrinkled.
Damien reacted fast. He grabbed her and pressed his sword against her neck. The woman froze, her body trembling, eyes wide with fear at the sight of the blood-stained blade so close to her skin.
The woman snapped in a sharp, commanding voice, "What the hell are you doing? Do you know who I am?"
Damien frowned, wondering how someone could act so bold with a sword pressed to her neck.
The noise drew Jennifer and Alice, who rushed in with weapons ready. When Jennifer saw the woman's face, her eyes went wide. "Aunt Cassie? Why are you here? I thought you went to the family gathering last week with the other elders!"
Damien blinked in surprise. Aunt?So this was the new principal—and Jennifer's aunt. He hadn't expected Jennifer to have such a powerful family.
Alice looked just as shocked. She knew Jennifer came from money, but this was on another level.
Realizing his mistake, Damien lowered his sword. "Sorry, ma'am. I didn't know," he said quickly, stepping back.
Principal Cassie immediately demanded, "Why are you even in my office?"
Jennifer quickly explained everything—what happened in the student dormitory and how they met the cordbeast. Damien added the details he had seen.
After hearing the whole story, Principal Cassie calmed down. "Don't worry, Jennifer," she said. "I've already contacted our family. They will send a military helicopter as soon as things are stable on their side."
Jennifer's eyes widened. "But we saw a military helicopter crash in the nearby park."
"Yes, I know," Cassie replied with a heavy sigh. "That helicopter was meant to pick me up, but something went wrong and it lost control before crashing."
After things calmed down, everyone moved to the dining hall to eat. While they were talking and sharing about themselves, one of the skeletons that had finished its work stood silently in the hallway.
Principal Cassie noticed it and gasped. "Look, there's a monster right there!" she shouted.
She quickly grabbed the samurai sword Damien had left nearby, but Damien caught her hand before she could swing."Don't worry," he said. "That's my inheritance awakening skill."
"What? What kind of skill are you talking about?" Cassie asked, shocked.
Damien and Alice explained everything—how they absorbed a ball of light and gained strange powers.
Cassie frowned. "I also absorbed a ball of light," she said, "but I didn't get any knowledge or explanation about any skills."
Damien and Alice exchanged confused looks. When they absorbed their lights, they immediately understood what the power was. Why didn't Cassie?
They decided to temporarily leave this matter behind. They finished eating and cleaned up the utensils, helping each other.
That was when the headless horseman came inside the building. Now the building was properly guarded by the skeletons, which were covered in their bone armor and carried weapons.
Some were left to secure the place and give security, while others went with the headless horseman and killed the zombies that might threaten the security of this place.
They also went to make sure that the zombies wouldn't form a group like the previous tide they faced in the dormitory.
Headless Horsman, like always, left his horse outside.
The Headless Horseman knelt down, and a skeleton head appeared on its shoulders and said, "Master, the nearby group of zombies has been dealt with. Only a few zombies far away from this place are left."
Seeing the Headless Horseman, Mrs. Cassie fainted. Of course, a normal human being would faint when seeing a talking skeleton.
Watching the fainted Mrs. Cassie, the Headless Horseman's soul fire flickered, and he said, "Master, I can feel a very threatening presence coming from her."
Hearing what the Headless Horseman said about Mrs. Cassie, Damien thought she might have healing powers or a related profession. Maybe that was why the horseman felt a negative energy coming from her, so Damien kept the samurai sword close.
The group helped Mrs. Cassie over to a nearby sofa. They tried to wake her up, but it seemed like she was in a deep sleep.
She looked fine, so the group decided to go and sleep while Jennifer stayed in the room to watch over her.
