Chapter 88 - George’s Fury! The Foot Clan’s Lapdogs!

When Phil blurted it out, Anton's expression turned a little strange.

"That name sounds like a villain!"

Phil thought Anton didn't like it, so he quickly explained,

"It's just like Venom! I like that kind of name. From now on, when I'm working with Editor Eddie, Venom and Ghoul will become every criminal's worst nightmare!"

Anton nodded.

"Not bad. It actually matches Venom pretty well."

Hearing the codename Ghoul, Anton suddenly recalled Phil Urich's real identity.

No wonder the guy had so much presence—it turned out he was a canon character from the comics.

In Ultimate Spider-Man—the version where Doctor Octopus hijacks Peter Parker's body—Phil Urich becomes the second Hobgoblin, a reporter for the Daily Bugle and right-hand man to Kingpin.

The first Hobgoblin, Roderick Kingsley, had been a fashion designer. By sheer luck, he stumbled into Norman Osborn's lab and stole his gear. Naturally, he spiraled into villainy and became a famous criminal. Later, Kingsley rented out his identity and equipment to Phil Urich, making him the new Hobgoblin.

But in this world, Phil hadn't even had the chance to meet Kingpin—because Kingpin was already dead.

Under the guidance of Anton and Eddie, Phil was now walking a path toward the light—and even joined the newly forming Justice League, making him practically a founding member. His story was diverging further and further from canon.

Anton thought about it for a moment and didn't take it too seriously.

Still, if Dr. Connors could use the mutagen from the turtles to develop a new human enhancement serum, Anton could give it to Phil—whose body was still that of a normal man. That would make him more fitting for the "superhero" image.

Either mutation or technology—one of the two.

And with Anton backing him, Phil could easily have both. Why not?

"Since you're planning to use the leftover Goblin gear, you should repaint it—so no one thinks the Green Goblin has come back."

Anton rubbed his chin, recalling the Hobgoblin design.

"How about blue and red?"

"Sounds great! I love it!" Phil said, practically vibrating with excitement.

Anton's approval—and the permission to keep the gear he'd stolen from Norman's office—made him overjoyed. Honestly, even if Anton told him to ride the glider naked, he'd probably do it.

After that, Eddie took Phil back to the area near Oscorp Tower, joining the other journalists for follow-up reports.

April, now with Channel 6 News, led her own crew—she'd arrived early with Eddie and secured plenty of exclusive footage.

Everyone worked through the night.

As for Anton, when he returned home, he tallied up the results.

[Green Goblin incident resolved. Reward: 6 million Justice Points.][Current Balance: 9 million Justice Points.]

Calculating it, the Arkham Knight Armor had cost him 10 million. With the 6 million just earned, his actual expenditure was only 4 million.

"Not a bad deal!"

He pondered for a moment, thinking about his upcoming mission with Splinter against the Foot Clan.

If things went smoothly, defeating the Foot Clan should push his Justice Points past the 10 million mark again!

Plus, the Cyborg movie was about to release. Once its cycle was done, he'd have another "alternate identity" ready to deploy.

The Marvel Justice League was steadily coming together.

The future was looking brighter and brighter!

A few days later—

News of the "Green Goblin's Attack on New York" and the "Unlucky Oscorp Corporation" had taken over every outlet. It became the hottest topic in New York—and soon, across America.

Yet Oscorp itself remained strangely silent.

Finally, investigative journalists discovered that Norman Osborn had disappeared.

After such a catastrophic event, Oscorp Tower—once again—had become ground zero for villain attacks. But this time, the tower's owner was simply gone.

Of course, nobody believed that one of the richest men on Earth was secretly the Goblin.

No one that rich would bomb his own building.

So, the public naturally assumed that Norman Osborn had been killed during the Green Goblin's rampage.

That revelation triggered a storm of public attention.

Osborn's disappearance had the same effect as Tony Stark's—but even bigger.

Both men were the souls of their respective companies. The difference was, without Norman, Oscorp had no one left to steer the ship.Stark Industries, on the other hand, still had the old board members who'd worked with Tony's father, Howard Stark—chief among them, Obadiah Stane.

And then there was Norman's son—Harry Osborn.

Logically, Harry would inherit his father's role and take the CEO seat.

But would Oscorp's shareholders really hand control of the company to a high school student?

Not a chance.Oscorp was heading straight into an unprecedented and chaotic power struggle.

Meanwhile, the Daily Bugle had nothing to do with any of that.

After capitalizing on the Goblin incident—thanks to firsthand footage and an exclusive interview with police chief George Stacy—the Bugle's fame had exploded.

Eddie's reputation skyrocketed. As New York's top star reporter, he became a role model for journalism students and even a mid-tier internet celebrity.

His new girlfriend, April, used the momentum to secure her position at Channel 6, finally overcoming her previous career slump.

Meanwhile, Phil spent those days repainting his Goblin armor.

He renamed it the Ghoul Suit, adding a crimson cape and hood to cover the now-blue armor.

At first glance, you'd never guess it came from the Green Goblin.

The pumpkin bombs and razor bats were sealed away. Using Anton's connections with the High Table, Phil commissioned a new set of custom-made gear—built around a core of advanced tech.

A *brand-new superhero—Ghoul—*was preparing for his dazzling debut.

After resolving the Goblin incident, Anton turned his focus—as promised to Daredevil and Splinter—toward the Foot Clan.

The Foot had been raiding Oscorp's chemical shipments at the docks.

They would never pass up the chaos now gripping Oscorp.

Sure enough, reports of robberies at the docks began flooding in.

The NYPD's special task force was repeatedly outsmarted—no matter how many traps they set, the Foot Clan always escaped in advance.

It was clear who was helping them—Sykes Corporation.

After all, it was the NYPD Task Force that had insisted on partnering with Sykes in the first place.

Under Anton's instructions, Eddie went to stake out the docks.

Using Venom's abilities, he managed to capture photographic proof—and handed it straight to his friend and ally, NYPD Commissioner George Stacy.

When George saw the evidence, he exploded in rage.

He hadn't expected that the company he trusted would turn out to be nothing more than lapdogs of the Foot Clan!
