Valtor followed Garion across the metal walkway toward the forge building.
Each step under the island's heavy gravity made a loud clang on the floor.
Even walking was hard, but Valtor didn't seem to care. He was too curious.
The moment they reached the large metal doors, Garion waved his hand slightly.
The doors slid open with a quiet mechanical sound.
Valtor stepped inside first. Then he stopped. "…What the hell is this?"
He slowly turned his head left and right, clearly confused.
The room was huge, but it didn't look like any forge he had ever seen.
There was no giant furnace, anvil, quenching pot, or even a hammer.
Instead, the entire place looked clean and bright.
Metal machines stood along the walls. Long metal tables held strange tools Valtor had never seen before.
Some machines had glass panels with glowing symbols moving across them.
A large circular platform stood in the center of the room.
Valtor walked forward slowly, frowning. "Where's the fire?"
