Chapter 148 - A Tense Atmosphere

The next day, it was already noon when Han Yu woke up.

But it wasn't a natural awakening; it was a pressing need to urinate, a result of excessive drinking.

"Ugh, a bit of a headache from drinking too much," Han Yu groaned, clutching his aching head. "Those guys, Saitama and the others, kept pouring the alcohol down my throat. I've never seen anyone drink red wine like it's beer, just downing it in huge glasses."

Because of last night's revelry, most people were still fast asleep. Only one person was sitting in the hall, watching television with great interest.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" Han Yu asked. The person watching TV was Galacta.

"Sleep? My biological clock is different from you Earthlings. I can go for hundreds of years without sleeping."

Galacta had changed out of her purple "eccentric clothes" and was wearing a white T-shirt and denim shorts. She was leaning back on the sofa, her fair, slender legs crossed. A faint ray of sunlight streamed in from the window, lazily illuminating her profile, creating a scene of serene beauty.

This scene made Han Yu stare, momentarily stunned. A sudden, urgent phone ring broke his reverie.

Picking up his phone, Han Yu saw Stark was calling. He answered, and Stark's hurried voice immediately came through.

"Han, are you on Earth?"

If an ordinary person heard this question, it would definitely be speechless. People ask if you're home, or if you're showering, but this was the first time he'd heard someone ask if he was on Earth.

Actually, it was because Han Yu often left Earth to go to other planets or worlds. Stark knew that Han Yu would occasionally go to other planets to handle things, so that's why he asked.

"Yeah, what's wrong? Why the panic?" Han Yu frowned. For Stark to call him in this tone, something must have happened.

"An uninvited guest came to my place. What he said is hard to believe, and the Avengers might not be able to handle it. I'd like to ask you to come and help." Stark said.

"Uninvited guest? Who?" Han Yu asked.

"Thor's brother, Loki!"

Hearing the name, Han Yu was a bit surprised. Loki was a war criminal who had invaded Earth and was considered an enemy of the Avengers. Yet, he was now seeking out the Avengers, and alone at that.

"Is Asgard in danger?"

This was Han Yu's first thought, and the only possible reason Loki would come to him. If Thor wasn't coming, but Loki was, then it meant Asgard was in danger, and Thor was occupied, unable to spare himself, so he sent Loki.

After all, this guy always liked to use his maxed-out magic to fight in close combat, but his combat effectiveness was not as good as an ordinary Asgardian guard. Therefore, it was better to let him deliver the message.

"I understand. I'll go immediately. Where are you?" Han Yu asked.

"Avengers Tower, we're all here."

"Alright, I'll be right there."

After hanging up the phone, Han Yu stood up and said to Galacta, "I have something to take care of, you..."

"I'm going with you!" Galacta jumped up from the sofa, saying this.

Looking into Galacta's eyes, Han Yu, for some reason, shifted his gaze and said, "Alright, but you have to listen to me, don't run around."

"Hehe, no problem, I promise I will listen to you." Galacta's eyes curved into crescents, looking very pretty.

After making the decision, the two of them walked outside. Han Yu waved his hand, and green lantern energy surged out from his ring. It enveloped the two of them in front of the curious Galacta, and the next moment they shot up into the sky, flying towards the Avengers Tower.

Avengers Tower.

In the meeting room on the top floor, the crowd was divided into two groups, one led by Iron Man, Stark, and the Avengers, and the other was military personnel.

"Mr. Ross, I don't think now is the time to capture Loki. Didn't you hear him say that Asgard is in danger? Our primary task now should be to help Asgard through this dangerous period."

At this moment, Captain America was actually protecting Loki, which seemed somewhat incomprehensible.

"Hmph, Rogers, you need to get things straight. The guy behind you is a war criminal who invaded New York. Don't you think he should be handed over to us for judgment? Obviously, Asgard didn't give him the correct sentence."

A middle-aged man with a small mustache said. His name was Ross, a U.S. Army Major General. After S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Pierce was confirmed to be a Hydra member and arrested, he was now in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"I'm not trying to defend Loki's actions. I just think this isn't the right time. If Asgard is in trouble, I think it's necessary for us to help. Otherwise, if they fall, we won't be in a good position either," Captain America said. General Ross' face darkened when he heard this. He didn't expect Captain America to be the first to resist him. Generally speaking, Captain America should be the most obedient among them. It was surprising that he was now disobeying orders.

The other members of the Avengers were equally surprised by Captain America's strong refusal. In their impression, Captain America was the kind of rule-abiding, honest person. It was a bit... exhilarating!

A captain like this wouldn't be bad either.

"Hmph, I see you've forgotten your roots. Do you remember what you did in New York? Your unauthorized actions caused so many civilian casualties and property losses. Now you dare to openly defy my orders? It seems that the Avengers need to be managed!"

General Ross sneered, his hands behind his back. Captain America's disobedience made him lose face, so he wanted to use this matter to suppress him.

"You have the nerve to say that? If it weren't for us, New York would have been flattened long ago. It was because of our actions that New York was spared. Are you out of your mind? Have you forgotten that you launched a nuclear missile?"

Speaking of which, Stark was also furious. When he heard that they were actually blaming the Avengers for the property damage in New York, he couldn't sit still and stood up to protest.

Indeed, if it weren't for Stark stepping forward at that time, New York would now be a wasteland, deserted, and those alien disasters might not even have been resolved.

In the end, it was Stark who selflessly embraced the nuclear missile and charged toward the wormhole that had been opened. The nuclear missile then blasted the enemy's mothership, and only then did the matter come to an end.

Now, General Ross didn't mention this, and instead blamed them. How could Stark not be angry?

"Tsk tsk tsk, things are getting heated."
