Chapter 56 - Chapter 56 — Zhang Yichen Finally Gets His Reward

"What should we do now?" Li Yue asked anxiously.

"Wait and watch. Their push isn't strong enough yet. We'll let tomorrow's hype ferment before making a move."

It was obvious that the ones stirring trouble tonight were the same people who had always been hostile toward Chen Xiaoxi.

Her recent success. Her fans defending her fiercely. Two respected musicians publicly supporting her.

All of it had clearly unsettled them.

Tonight, they would undoubtedly hire online trolls and spark a large-scale argument with Xiaoxi's supporters.

The result?

They were destined to lose.

And once tomorrow's full-blown hype erupted, it would become the perfect weapon—one they'd try to use against both Chen Xiaoxi and Zhang Yichen.

More participants.More noise.More attention.

Naturally, their "popularity" would soar.

If nothing unexpected happened, tomorrow's trending list would practically belong to them.

And when haters and supporters alike were watching—

Their new song's downloads would skyrocket.

After all, who would hesitate over two yuan?

With both fame and revenue in sight, what did Zhang Yichen have to fear?

Tomorrow, he even planned to push things further—mobilize the fans and stir the momentum just a little more.

"Really? We're just leaving it like this? No damage control?" Li Yue still looked uneasy.

"Damage control? Do you even have a PR team yet?" Zhang Yichen shot her a sideways glance.

Such a minor issue—and she was panicking already.

"Hey!" Li Yue protested. "You know we haven't had time to build one!"

She felt genuinely wronged. Over the past few days, she had been running nonstop.

Company registration was completed. The organizational framework was nearly finalized.Once renovations were done, operations could officially begin.

As for team building—she was already working on it.

But how could a capable PR team be formed overnight?

She wanted professionals—people with competence and integrity. Individuals who understood the entertainment industry, possessed sharp crisis awareness, and could make swift, decisive judgments.

Yes, she could outsource to an external PR firm.

But they wouldn't be her own people. She didn't fully trust them.

And every time Zhang Yichen radiated confidence like this, she found herself believing him.

Unless absolutely necessary, she didn't plan to involve outside help.

"My point is—don't panic. Don't lose your head. Even when the sun sets, the moon lights the road ahead. Understand?"

Zhang Yichen looked at her meaningfully.

"I… think I understand? Or maybe I don't?" Li Yue scratched her head.

"Don't worry. Don't lose hope. Even when the moon rests, the sun will rise. Look up—there will always be light."

He stared at her again.

"So… you mean Xiaoxi and I shouldn't be afraid because things will get better?" she asked uncertainly.

"You really are hopeless," he said flatly. "The first sentence means it's late—go to bed. The second means if you don't sleep now, dawn will arrive soon."

He stood up. "Alright. Time to sleep."

Taking Chen Xiaoxi's hand, he headed toward the bedroom.

Li Yue remained behind in the study, staring blankly at the air.

"Pfft… you're terrible. Shouldn't we tell her?"

The moment they stepped out, Xiaoxi burst into laughter.

She had known the instant he started reciting those "inspirational lines" that he was teasing Yue.

Watching her puzzled expression had been too amusing.

"Why bother? She's not stupid. Once she figures it out, she'll probably come after me."

"You're awful…"

"What comes next is worse," he said with a mischievous grin.

Laughing and bickering softly, they returned to the bedroom.

"Come here. Help me wash my back."

With mock seriousness, Zhang Yichen pulled her toward the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Li Yue finally pieced it together.

He had fooled her.

Those were lyrics!

Furious, she marched toward their bedroom, determined to confront him.

But just as she reached the door, unmistakable sounds drifted out.

Her face burned instantly.

"I need to cleanse my ears!"

She fled back to her room as if electrocuted.

The next morning was Sunday. Since Li Yue didn't have work, Yichen didn't rush to prepare breakfast.

But he still woke early.

Today was Xiaoxi's final acupuncture treatment.

"After this, you officially belong to me," he teased while inserting the final few needles.

He had restrained himself for seven whole days.

"W-what nonsense… what do you mean belong to you?" Her cheeks flushed deeply.

"You know exactly what I mean."

He smirked, his movements careful but deliberate.

"C-can you focus on your work properly?"

It was the final session, and Xiaoxi already felt tender and exhausted.

"Alright, alright. Almost done."

He removed the needles and helped her sit up.

The next moment—

He lifted her effortlessly and carried her toward the bathroom.

"W-what are you doing? It's so early!"

Her voice trembled, half embarrassed, half flustered.

"I'm helping you shower," he replied smoothly, though the amusement in his eyes betrayed him.

Steam soon fogged the mirror.

Time seemed to blur.

When they finally emerged nearly an hour later—

"You beast. Can't you be gentler? It's not like I was refusing you."

Her face was flushed like the morning sun.

Her body felt sore, yet warm in a way she couldn't quite describe.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yichen looked entirely refreshed, as though he had been the one pampered instead.

Maybe it was the cramped space.

Maybe it was the lingering tension of the past week finally released.

Or maybe—

He simply had far too much energy.

Xiaoxi bit her lip, trying not to overthink it.

If he could be that overwhelming in a small bathroom…

What would the future look like?

Would her days be filled with chaos and sweetness in equal measure?

The thought made her shiver—

And, embarrassingly, anticipate more.

This so-called "little wolf" of hers…

Was dangerously addictive.

And she was beginning to suspect—

She didn't mind being thoroughly corrupted.
