The night had fallen, their clothes, still clinging to their skin, offered little warmth, and the chill made Evelise shiver uncontrollably. She glanced at the bed Sid had crafted, its soft mattress inviting her with a promise of comfort, but dampness ruined the thought. As she hesitated, lost in indecision, Sid casually stripped down, seemingly unbothered by the cold. Evelise froze. Her eyes widened in horror.
"Why are you—?!"
She shouted, twisting away. Sid raised his hands defensively, a faint smirk on his lips.
"I'm out! Look, we don't really have a choice. The faster we dry our bodies, the better. Clothes won't help at this point."
He stepped outside, hanging their soaked garments on a line hastily tied between trees.
"I'm going inside. It's chilly, and the fireplace will help. Your choice— strip now, or freeze until morning."
