Maids walked around the dining table, setting plates and pouring drinks and juices into glass cups as the family gathered around for dinner.
"How was the trip, Mr Davidson?" Mrs Parkinson poured herself another drink.
"It was splendid." He replied.
Vanessa sat close to Marie, she felt uncomfortable around the wealthy families, and Anna occasionally shot her a glare.
"Mrs Eleanor told me to join in and despite all my protests, she still lured me here. Marie also supported her, and now, I feel so uncomfortable under Anna's hostile stare and Mr Parkinson's wandering looks at me." She thought.
"So why don't we talk about the engagement party. I think it's time we hurried with their wedding, I mean, why the prolonged wait?" Mrs Parkinson said.
"I couldn't agree more. We should proceed with their wedding sooner, but with Marcel's life still in danger, the wedding might have to wait a bit longer." Mr Charles drank from his cup.
