Godfrey sat in his room, gazing at his phone. He had postponed going to see his parents for a week now and woke up this morning.
Although Godfrey had made up his mind to go see his parents, especially his mother, he just couldn't get himself to go there.
Deep within his core, he was afraid her words would break him, that he wasn't strong enough like Arthur to bear it all. He was afraid he would run away while his mother chased after him.
That pain, the despair she would feel from her child running away.
He was imprisoned by these thoughts, with the fear of the future, even when he had made up his mind to change it.
Unfortunately, that change had nothing to do with the fact that the mana tree was his mother and its objective would never change.
So now, this alert gave him something to look forward to. It diverted his attention from his parents, bringing life and positive expectations to his heart.
