Ellia rose to her feet, her size even greater than Grace's, but when she noticed the way Isolde and Godfrey looked at each other, she slowly sat back down.
"Frey?" Isolde's eyes trembled as she dropped the baby dragons and rose to her feet.
Godfrey simply smiled. He couldn't figure out what to say, so he slowly opened his arms.
Isolde bit her trembling lower lip as her eyes moistened. When she couldn't hold it anymore, she ran and jumped into his arms.
He held her tight, his voice soft and comforting. "I've got you, Iso…. I've got you."
Tears began to stream down Isolde's eyes. She thought she had healed, that her tears had dried up, but why did she feel so broken right now?
"I'm sorry." Godfrey spoke once more while he caressed her back gently. Almost no one except her parents had ever seen this fragile part of Isolde. All the outside world could see was a beauty sitting in one of the most powerful positions in the nation and beyond.
