Chapter 75 - Petrification Magic Fails

"Watoomb's Wind!"

Another nimble mystic arts master quickly formed hand seals and began chanting an incantation.

Immediately, they pushed their hands upwards, and the abundant magical energy transformed into an unprecedentedly massive whirlwind!

It swirled the sand and gravel from the ruins, carrying the momentum to annihilate everything in its path!

The goal was to obstruct the enemy's vision and buy time to cast spells!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Everyone was rapidly forming seals, their fingertips erupting with potent magical sparks, and in the blink of an eye, they wove together a miniature orange shield.

This was Raggadorr's Rings!

The signature skill of mystic arts masters!

It could be used not only as a defensive measure but also as an offensive one!

Clang, clang, clang!

The crowd brandished their magical shields, charging towards the Dragon-Headed Demon at the end of their vision, roaring in fury as they sought vengeance for their fallen comrades!

Every single mystic artist present was, without exception, a genuine, seasoned mage!

Apprentice, Initiate, Senior, Archmage.

These were the four tiers.

They symbolized the realms of magical cultivation achieved.

Ascending was as difficult as reaching the heavens!

Of course.

This didn't apply to Doctor Strange, who possessed the protagonist's halo.

Stephen Strange, after barely any training, had replaced the Ancient One and become the master of the Kamar-Taj secret realm.

It was terrifying!

After all, mystic arts required the chanting of corresponding incantations to activate.

Each incantation had long, difficult syllables! But Doctor Strange had installed a plugin for perfect recall.

It was simply absurd! …

"Watch out!!"

"Raggadorr's Rings can't withstand the Lord's shockwave!"

The Master of the Temple, Daniel Drumm, gritted his teeth and hurriedly reminded his fellow disciples who had come to support them.

But it was too late!

Buzz!

The scorching, brilliant laser beam instantly pierced the void, tearing apart the massive Watoomb's Wind.

Then, a brutal impact struck the surface of the magical round shield!

Crack! Crack!

The veteran mage, who had been the first to meet the muscle demon head-on, saw his pupils shrink to the size of pinpricks.

He watched, helpless, as the lightning shattered the round shield, pierced his chest, and continued forward, directly towards the underground cavern behind him!

"Shield of the Seraphim!!"

Kaecilius suddenly spread his hands.

Instantly.

A giant shield, outlined with magical lines, materialized out of thin air.

Crackling!

A grating noise exploded.

Tiny cracks spread across the shield's surface.

But it ultimately blocked the searing gaze of the towering demon!

"It seems the tricks taught at Kamar-Taj are indeed quite something."

The Dragon-Headed Demon sneered, its voice laced with a strange, otherworldly tone.

Tricks?

The demon emperor who had once ruled the Eastern continent twice considered the secret magic he'd cultivated as mere tricks?!

"Heh."

"It's tricks like these that turned you into an immobile, coiled dragon statue for a thousand years!"

Kaecilius retorted.

Then, he began to make hand seals and chant an incantation, and sheets of paper inscribed with the Ancient Qin Script flew out from his sleeves.

The surfaces of these papers were covered in Eastern pictographs, imbued with limitless magical power.

These were the magic scrolls Lopé, the Dragon Warrior, had given him!

The necessary ritual to petrify the Lord!

"Protect me."

Kaecilius narrowed his eyes.

"Alright!"

A group of veteran mages immediately sprang into action.

The formation shifted to the four corners.

Fingers interlaced.

They intoned the unique rhythm of the ancient spell.

Buzz!

A sacred and grand aura spread.

It was as if a gap to another dimension had been opened.

Intense malice and foreboding instantly enveloped the burly, muscular Dragon-Headed Demon!

"Crimson Bands of Cyttorak!"

The Zealots all shouted in intimidation.

Whoosh!

Crimson bands, wreathed in sparks and crackling with arcs of electricity, lashed out from all directions.

They slammed into the Dragon-Headed Demon's limbs and body!

"Huh?"

"I can move!"

Daniel Drumm, the Master of the New York Sanctum, was visibly delighted, and immediately gripped his magical short staff.

His eyes blazed with a deep-seated hatred!

He whipped at the Dragon-Headed Demon, which was now within striking distance!

Zap!

The secret magic infused with righteous energy struck the black battle suit woven from liquid mercury, instantly scattering showers of sparks!

The scene was dazzling!

At the same time, ...

Kaecilius's Petrification Magic was finally ready.

"Begone, demons and monsters..."

"Begone, demons and monsters..."

"Begone, demons and monsters..."

The complex and arcane mystic incantation echoed.

In an instant, the paper talismans inscribed with the Ancient Qin Script soared into the air, hurtling towards the Dragon-Headed Demon's imposing, muscular form!

This was Lopé's Petrification Magic.

A supreme exorcism technique that once sealed the Lord, stripping away its talismanic power and transforming it into a coiled dragon sculpture!

Of course.

Even if not cast by the Dragon Warrior Lopé, it would still unleash unparalleled power.

It would subdue the evil dragon in one fell swoop!

"Once I've sealed the Lord..."

"I'll order him to hand over the other half of the spell compendium."

Kaecilius's lips curled up.

It was as if he could already see his deceased wife and children resurrected, beckoning him!

This was Kaecilius's obsession.

After learning that mystical magic couldn't revive his wife and children, he took an extreme path, choosing to seek help from the master of the Dark Dimension!

Dormammu!

The dimension lord who was eyeing reality.

A terrifying demon god belonging to the supreme level!

Anything spoken would be known!

So, their fates intertwined!

"...Friendly reminder."

"It seems your Petrification Magic didn't work at all."

A faint, ethereal, and seductive voice echoed in his mind, speaking with amusement.

What?

Didn't work?

How could this be?!

Kaecilius almost thought he was hallucinating.

The crux of the matter was that Dormammu wouldn't make such a mistake!

Crack.

Crack.

A continuous noise of shattering glass rang out.

The muscular and burly Dragon-Headed Demon let out a deafening dragon's roar, actually using brute force to snap the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak!

The Petrification Magic, which was originally a sure thing…

All hit the Lord! However, the mercury armor on the Lord's body, flowing with a metallic luster, directly disintegrated all the damage from the Petrification Magic! The expected scene simply didn't happen.

Everyone fell silent.

They were as silent as cicadas in winter.

The entire underground cave was almost quiet enough to hear a pin drop! Even Kaecilius had temporarily shut up.

This situation was utterly baffling!

"Looks like your tricks aren't working."

"It seems the Sorcerer Supreme didn't teach you how to keep up with the times."

The venomous Lord's face twisted into a human-like sneer.

He showed no sign of worry.

After all, this was a spell meant for a fire demon.

What did it have to do with an extraterrestrial, liquid lifeform that roamed the universe?

The structure of mystical magic was incredibly rigorous. Not a single mistake could be made for it to take effect!

Otherwise, it would lead to extremely terrible and horrifying consequences!

Like tearing apart the barriers of the multiverse…

Awakening slumbering ancient gods…

招致邪恶存在的注视...

等等.

等等.

"I'll hold them off!"

"You all get out of here quickly!"

"...Inform the Sorcerer Supreme and the Dragon Fighter about this!"

Daniel Drumm, the Master of the Sanctum, gripped his magic wand tightly, stepping forward to shield the many senior sorcerers.

His strong and sturdy figure, compared to the nearly nine-meter-tall Dragon-Headed Demon...

Like a tiny, insignificant insect!

Trying to shake a giant tree, how laughable and overconfident!

"Go!"

Kaecilius and his followers didn't hesitate for a moment, immediately activating their Sling Rings to draw a portal in the void.

Leading to a secret, unknown gathering place!

Kamar-Taj.

It wasn't a monolithic entity! There were many factions and cliques within.

The Zealots, founded by Kaecilius, were a radical group that fanatically pursued forbidden knowledge, eager to decipher the ominous.

As for Daniel Drumm, the Master of the Sanctum, he respected the natural laws of the universe.

He maintained close contact with his top disciple, Karl Mordo.

"Your courage is commendable."

"You must like Fish Le's songs."

The white, jagged fangs clashed, followed by a metallic screech.

Shen Du sneered.

Buzz!!

Furious bolts of electricity erupted from his pupils.

At the same time.

A sudden power outage.

An earthquake.

An explosion.

It undoubtedly alarmed the detectives in Hell's Kitchen!

Police cars rushed in one after another.

They instantly surrounded the Midtown Circle Financial Company building!

"Put your hands up!"

Officers hid behind their vehicles, fingers on the triggers.

The dark muzzles of their guns immediately aimed at the beggar fleeing the ruins.
