The Spirit of Vengeance within Johnny Blaze spoke of its own accord, explaining in a thunderous voice.

Johnny's face twisted in agony. His skin cracked, peeled away,and the fragments ignited in searing flame.
Hellfire burned from within, purging every impurity.
Each transformation brought excruciating pain—and that pain was why Johnny despised all dark beings.
"Zarathos…"
"The ancient Elemental Lord from the primordial era… how pitiful, to have fallen into my father's service."
The Hell Prince, Blackheart, shook his head with a sigh.
Johnny Blaze was unique because of the demon possessing him—Zarathos.
Once, twenty thousand years ago, Zarathos was a mighty Elemental Lord.
God created the Spirits of Vengeance precisely to subdue him.
But fate took a strange turn—Zarathos was defeated, then brainwashed by Mephisto, his memories rewritten,and finally sealed within Johnny Blaze—tasked with defeating Mephisto's rebellious son, Blackheart,and recovering the San Venganza Contract—a contract written in the blood of an entire town's inhabitants!
Even God Himself had feared it,and sought to destroy it immediately.
But the Ghost Rider assigned to retrieve it rebelled and disappeared without a trace.
Of course—Shen Du knew exactly where that former Ghost Rider, Carter Slade, was hiding.
"This contract…"
"…belongs to me now!"
A deafening dragon's roar shook the cavernous depths.
With four powerful arms, Shen Du pulled in four different directions—
Tearing the dragon apart by hand!

His divine battle armor suddenly burst with radiant, dazzling light.
Protective mode activated!
The righteous energy burned like lightning,sending a shocking surge through Shen Du's body!

"The spell for removing the talisman is about to expire!"

Jackie Chan jolted to attention and charged at the Holy Lord.
To be honest—even "Uncle" had nearly fainted from fright moments ago, thinking Jackie was about to be torn apart.
Thankfully, the divine armor had held strong!
If he could just remove the Rat Talisman,the Holy Lord would lose his power to animate objects and revert to an immobile dragon statue—to be sealed forever in Section 13.

A tall, fiery-haired figure in a skintight combat suit raised her head,her beautiful eyes glowing pure white.
A blazing phoenix spread its wings behind her!
"This—!"
"This is the same move that annihilated Lo Pei, the Dragon Warrior!"
"It's already recharged?!"
Jackie froze in place,the twin emerald glows fading from his fists—The time limit was up.
Not that it mattered—even if he had time left, he wouldn't have been able to remove the talisman anyway,because Shen Du had already regained consciousness—in just an instant.
"...Looks like the divine armor truly is extraordinary," Shen Du said, his crimson eyes glinting.
How many relics had those divine warriors who subdued the eight demons left behind?
It seemed even with all twelve talismans, arrogance was unwise.

A piercing phoenix cry split the air.
The angelic figure—Jean Grey—unleashed Phoenix's Judgment,aiming straight for Blackheart.
A holy power that burned away all sin and impurity—The Phoenix—a force capable of purifying all darkness.
It soared majestically,its beauty so breathtaking it was nearly divine.
"Phoenix?!"
"She carries such power?!"
Blackheart's eyes widened in disbelief.His pupils contracted again and again—until the reflected phoenix filled them completely.
Jean Grey, as a member of the X-Men, knew all too well how dangerous Blackheart was.
She couldn't allow the Hell Prince to escape—or the entire world might face catastrophe.
Driven by righteousness, Jean attacked,banishing Blackheart from reality itself.
But since she had already used that ability once before,the Phoenix's power was weakened.
When it struck Blackheart,the raging flames enveloped him completely.
His screams were agonized and horrific—the power consuming him was beyond imagination,outshining even Hellfire itself.
"I'm afraid… that still won't destroy him."
"If Mephisto's son could die that easily, why would I have been sent to stop him?"
Zarathos's tone grew solemn as he swung his chain.
The links clashed, weaving together into a web of glowing infernal runes—
sealing the dimensional rift that led to Blackheart's Hell.
Vroom!
The roar of an engine echoed.
A flaming skull-shaped motorcycle shot forth from the cavern's entrance,rolling to a halt before the Ghost Rider.
Boots stepped onto the foot pegs.The throttle twisted—
Tires screeched!A burst of sparks split the air.
"Why did the mummy knight run away?"
The sumo warrior Tohru asked in confusion.
"Because his target wasn't the Holy Lord!" Uncle snapped.
"It was another demon! That demon escaped—so why would he stick around?"
"And another thing—"Uncle's face darkened. "The Holy Lord is gone too!"
"Unlucky! Unlucky, unlucky, unlucky, unlucky!!"
Five straight "unluckys"—enough to show just how frustrated the archaeologist was.
He'd been so close—so close to subduing the Holy Lord!
"I have a bad feeling…" Uncle murmured.
"The next time we see him…"
"…one divine armor won't be enough."
He was right.
It wouldn't.
Because Shen Du was about to travel to Mount Olympus,to open the first Gate of Hell—
The Thunder Hexagram—the domain of the thunder demon, Zhong Su.
But before that,he had to claim the San Venganza Contract ahead of everyone else.
After all—no demon in the Marvel world was qualified to conquer reality.
