Chapter 29 - Childhood [2]

"Tristan, I want you to be kind to our employers, alright." A tall young lady said as she held a little boy who looked like Tristan, That's because it was Tristan. The two of them were in front of a huge castle

"Yes, Sissy!" The little Tristan said politely as they entered the castle gates. When they got inside the castle, a butler stood in front of the door waiting for their arrival.

"Welcome to the Gilfelt castle, home to the Gilfelt family. From now on, you will be living and working here. There's a maid's quarter for you and your son-"

"Oh, he's not my son, he's my little brother," the girl interrupted the butler, clarifying the misunderstanding.

"Oh, I see, then pardon my mistake." The butler said as he bowed his head in apology.

"I don't mind at all. If anything, I should be thanking you for giving me this job." The mysterious woman whom Tristan called his sister bowed before the butler showed them to their rooms.

3 months had passed since Tristan and his sister had begun to live in the castle. Tristan's sister was currently working due to her busy and tight schedule as a maid. Tristan, on the other hand, was sitting in the castle's garden. Other maids avoided him because of his Ghoul blood, and most of the knights bullied him. But that all changed when one of the king's knights kidnapped Princess Lenora, who was the same age as Tristan at the time. Tristan was the only one who could save her, having witnessed the kidnapping and rushed to her rescue.

(Present time)

Tristan was filled with joy as he rushed to hug Princess Lenora.

"Lenny, it's been such a long time!" Tristan said as his voice sounded kind of sad yet happy at the same time, he pulled himself back and stared at her with a warm smile. It was almost as if he had found something he had been looking for.

Galaxy and Finn walked up to both of them and bowed their heads, paying their respects to Princess Lenora.

"Your majesty, it is an honour to be in your presence." Both Galaxy and Finn said in a formal tone, showing their respect for Princess Lenora. Tristan, on the other hand, was shocked seeing Galaxy bowing to someone for the first time.

"Even a badass like Galaxy has someone to put her in her place." Tristan thought to himself, looking flabbergasted at Galaxy's behaviour.

"Your majesty, I am sorry for my Fiancé behaviour. We'll leave immediately. As Galaxy uttered those words, it felt like Lenora had heard something so atrocious it could be punishable by death.

"Excuse me, could you stop spouting such nonsense!" Lenora said coldly, quietly, yet controlled. The air felt cold as her royal-like presence turned into pure murderous intent. Her gaze was fixed on Galaxy like a lion staring at its prey.

Galaxy felt a slight chill as sweat broke from her face

"She's angry?.... for what?" Galaxy asked herself as she nervously smiled at Lenora.

"Your highness, did I say something wrong?" Galaxy said, breaking Lenora out of her Murderous thoughts. Lenora quickly regained her composure, masking her jealousy and terrifying possessiveness.

"Oh, forgive me, I was just taken aback at what you just said... It's just that I never expected Tristan to be engaged to someone of your standard." Lenora said in a mocking tone that had concealed jealousy.

Galaxy felt a little bit angry at what she just said, but she didn't know why.

"Hey, Lenny, it's true we're actually engaged," Tristan said, confirming what Galaxy had said with a nervous smile on his face as he scratched his head.

"This b*tch thinks she can steal my darling and run away," Lenora murmured to herself with a dark expression for a brief moment as she stared at Galaxy while pinching herself. "That's so amazing, I'm happy for both of you!" Lenora said, concealing her jealousy and possessive nature from the rest of them.

"If you'd excuse us, we'll be on our way," Galaxy said quickly, pulling Tristan away from Lenora, not wanting to continue the conversation any further.

Both had gone far away from the commotion, at least far from any prying eyes that is.

"What was that?!" Galaxy asked, feeling overwhelmed yet confused at the same time, as she stared at Tristan, wanting answers to the questions that filled her head.

Tristan, on the other hand, shifted his gaze, not wanting to answer Galaxy's questions. "Tristan !... I want answers immediately!" Galaxy yelled, staring at Tristan with a cold, serious gaze.

"Alright... Lenny is my childhood friend, and we both grew up in the same castle." Tristan said in defeat, not wanting to touch the discussion anymore.

"…..sigh.... "

"Alright, let's leave the matter. I don't want to press you on the topic too much... anyway, have you found anything helpful?" Galaxy sighed and asked, wanting more information on the current mission.

"Yeah, I got some major info that could help," Tristan said with a serious look on his face.

After explaining the situation, Galaxy remained silent from the shock, yet she displayed total composure.

"I see so you didn't see the faces of the two people?" Galaxy asked, wanting to confirm from Tristan as she rested her back on one of the pillars.

"Yeah," Tristan replied with a serious, formal tone as the pressure of the situation weighed down on him like heavy boulders.

"Well, if that's the case, then I guess Tristan should bodyguard the princess while we look for the assailants," Finn said as he appeared behind one of the pillars with an air of shroud mystery surrounding him.

"Wha!… how did you?… when did you?"

"Calm down, little Tris. I had your *fiancé* fill me in," Finn said, quickly dismissing Tristan's worries. Tristan quickly turns to Galaxy, wanting to confirm, and she simply nods to what Finn had just said.

"Tristan, meet my assistant student council president, Finn Reignheart," Galaxy said as Finn smiled and bowed his head.
