After saving the Valley Kingdom twice, Greed and the Black Wolves were finally recognized as heroes. Granted leadership over an elite squad, Greed sets out on a critical mission to retrieve the powerful Zion Orb from the abandoned capital of Lys Anima, alongside his closest allies—Ryo, Snow, Rex, and Zeno.
What begins as a flawless operation quickly turns catastrophic when they are confronted by Leon, a mysterious and overwhelming opponent who defeats them effortlessly and claims the Orb. In the aftermath, Snow, Rex, and Zeno are killed—by the very man Greed once promised to return home.
Shattered by loss, guilt, and failure, Greed falters. Ryo rises in his place, managing to recover their fallen comrades, but at the cost of the mission—and the Orb. As if fate hadn't dealt enough, two Apostles emerge, pushing Ryo beyond his limits and forcing an awakening of power that still proved futile.
In the end, Greed's own awakened power resurfaces, concluding the tragedy with the Orb lost, three friends dead, and Ryo left on the brink of death.
Broken and unconscious, Greed is taken by an unknown figure—someone who reveres him and the Black Wolves—taking them back to the Valley.
But before all that…
