Chapter 108 - 109Chapter 109 Father and Son Meet

"I'll go take a look first!"

As they walked out of the Underground Room, Flash was the first to speak.

"Alright." Batman added a reminder, "You absolutely cannot get within fifty meters of them!"

"Understood!"

Barry was very fast; as soon as he finished speaking, he had already circled outside and returned.

However, when he returned, his expression was very strange.

Victor asked, confused, "Barry, what did you see?"

"Batman." Barry murmured, "I saw a Batman outside!"

"What?!"

Everyone was surprised, but no one thought Barry had seen wrong, because the time it took for an ordinary person to blink was enough for Flash to draw a complete portrait of the target.

Batman's eyes narrowed slightly, then he made a decision directly: "Victor, Barry, you two stay behind, we'll go take a look."

"Could it be a trap?" Slade Wilson hesitated slightly.

"Do you remember when future Barry sent me a message, he gave a time and location coordinate?" Batman asked.

Flash was the first to react: "I remember! Future me said there was someone there who could help us!"

Mera and the others didn't know about this.

"So that's why we're heading here?" Mera suddenly understood, but there was still one thing she didn't quite grasp, "But wasn't Batman's original plan to find Kryptonite? Why did it suddenly change? And how did he know that place was a trap?"

"Batman always has his reasons!" Joker chuckled, unconcerned.

Batman didn't explain, and he couldn't explain.

He couldn't possibly say that after a short nap, his mind was filled with many memories, and from those memories, he knew that the source of the Kryptonite information had no Kryptonite, only Superman in ambush, right?

"But it's already half an hour past the agreed time, we're late." Flash glanced at the time.

Batman said calmly, "It seems they've already found us."

Batman walked out without hesitation and saw Fang Yuan and Thomas face to face.

The others also looked over, and then everyone confirmed it.

Flash was right.

Although they didn't recognize Fang Yuan, Thomas's attire was very eye-catching.

Batman's full gear, helmet, cape, tactical belt—everything was there. Even they hadn't seen Batman dressed so completely in a long time.

"You're not from this timeline, are you?" Batman saw it at first glance.

And the Batman opposite was constantly watching him. Batman found that he couldn't see through that gaze, only that it felt familiar.

It was as if—he had seen it in a dream.

Thomas was also stunned. He stared intently at this Batman's eyes. How incredibly weathered those eyes were!

Based on his eyes alone, Thomas even felt that the other person was much older than him.

He had thought of many things to say and had prepared himself mentally, but when he actually saw the grown-up Bruce, Thomas felt only pity.

This child must have suffered so much.

He sighed.

"That's right, we are from another timeline." Thomas replied.

Victor, Flash, and the others were relatively happy, as they hadn't seen new comrades in a long time.

But upon hearing Thomas's voice, Batman trembled all over, and his chaotic mind calmed down slightly.

"You—who exactly are you?" A conjecture surfaced, but he couldn't quite believe it.

Thomas didn't speak, but slowly removed his cowl, revealing his face.

Batman's eyes instantly widened, looking at that familiar appearance. Although much older, he was certain that this was the person he had longed for day and night!

"Hi, Bruce!" Thomas greeted him proactively, "Long time no see!"

At this moment, Batman lost all his composure, and the chaotic memories in his mind received an unprecedented soothing.

Because he now possessed the memories of many Batmen, which meant he had experienced that dark alley many times, the pain tormenting him repeatedly, giving Batman a splitting headache.

But Thomas's appearance released all the pain, after all, only the one who tied the bell can untie it.

With just one look, they confirmed that the other was the person they were waiting for.

Bruce Wayne walked towards Thomas, and to the surprised gazes of Joker and the others, he embraced Thomas.

Seeing Batman so openly release his excited emotions, Joker looked as if the World had ended.

"Is this… the Apocalypse?"

For him, the World turning into a wasteland wasn't the end, but if even Batman changed, that would be the true end.

"Click!"

Fang Yuan quickly captured the best angle and took a photo of this touching scene with his camera.

"If I can still see other versions of Batman, this will definitely sell for a good price." He thought to himself.

The sound of the shutter brought the two father and son, eyes full of tears and tightly embracing, back to reality.

Thomas took a deep breath, held Bruce's shoulders, and said, "I'm so sorry, son."

He had thought of many things to say on the way, but this one sentence had been suppressed in his heart for 32 years.

"We are from another timeline. There, the person who survived that night was Thomas Wayne." Fang Yuan explained to Batman.

Bruce had already guessed it, and hearing Fang Yuan confirm it personally still made him very happy.

At least in one Universe, his loved ones were still alive and well.

Their emotions quickly stabilized, because the current environment was not a place for reminiscing.

Subsequently, the two groups returned to the Underground Room they had just left.

Fang Yuan, Flash, Joker, and the others did not disturb the father and son as they caught up.

The father and son definitely had private things to say, though in this Underground Room, with Fang Yuan's hearing, nothing could truly be a secret.

And from their conversation, Fang Yuan was surprised to discover that before entering that alley, this Bruce and Thomas had completely identical memories of each other!

In other words, they truly were a pair of father and son, only that the alley on that night served as a branching point, leading them to different lives.

So Batman's address for Thomas naturally became— "Father."

Fang Yuan turned to Flash and the others, and began to inquire about information.

Flash had already warned them before, so why couldn't they prevent all of this?

Victor quickly provided the answer.

Flash had indeed warned them effectively, and Batman also knew that Lois Lane was the key to preventing Superman's blackening.

So he specifically took Lois Lane to a secret safe house, successfully preventing Darkseid from attacking the Batcave.

However, during the subsequent war between Earth and Apokolips, although they were very well prepared, Darkseid's Apokolips was too strong.

The Earth side fought for two years before being completely defeated, and so everything returned to the familiar trajectory.

Lois Lane died in the war—Superman turned evil—Earth was doomed.

Fang Yuan wasn't surprised that Earth didn't win against Apokolips, but he was curious about another point.

"Since Batman knew Superman might be controlled, didn't he have a counter-plan ready?"
