The leader of the Kingdom of Talokan is Namo, commonly known as the Aquaman of the Marvel Universe.
If Arthur Curry from DC ever found out, he'd definitely cry foul.
In the comics, Namo is also a Mutant, and Fang Yuan just happens to be the Mutant leader, so even he wants to say—
"Get lost, you broke relative from nowhere!"
Fang Yuan can't be blamed for this attitude; the cinematic version of Namo is just too underwhelming.
The director basically copy-pasted Wakanda's setup, only swapping African-Americans for Latinos this time.
Wakanda hides on land, Talokan dives under the sea.
Wakanda's a tribal model, Talokan's the same. Wakanda uses Vibranium to lead the World by two centuries, Talokan's about even. Wakanda has Vibranium jets and energy shields—so does Talokan.
And then neither side uses them.
Hilarious!
Wakanda still has Black Panther plots ahead, so Fang Yuan doesn't want to be too radical—but Talokan? Far fewer scruples.
"Evil villains deserve death by everyone's hand!"
"Today I, Fang Yuan, will act on Heaven's behalf. To suit my heroic image, I'll do this good deed quietly," he mused.
He was about to cry at his own nobility—
defusing the Namo crisis in advance.
Silently guarding the World.
Monopolizing the undersea Vibranium… ahem, scratch that line.
Where else would you find a Superhero this proactive?
The Marvel Universe has truly struck gold.
Problem is, although the seabed holds Vibranium, humanity's current detection tech can't find it at all, which is how Talokan has stayed hidden so long.
But that's no trouble for Fang Yuan.
What technology can't do, magic can.
Fang Yuan hurried back to Kamar-Taj and asked the Ancient One for a location spell. To his surprise, she pulled out a laptop and tossed him a string of coordinates!
"This is…?"
"Exactly what you want."
Fang Yuan fell silent—how did the Ancient One read his mind like a tapeworm in his stomach?
Suddenly he understood: "Was it those million-plus loops you repeated?"
The Ancient One nodded.
Fang Yuan got it; the Ancient One knew him well, hence the cooperation.
He's the type who yields to kindness, not force. If anyone tried to strong-arm him, Fang Yuan would simply find a chance to bail, return when he could win—and then it'd be demon-king apocalypse time.
At that point, the true devil king would descend.
Conversely, if others treat him politely, he'll accommodate their feelings.
So Fang Yuan opened a portal straight to the coordinates' location.
It was a stretch of the Atlantic far from any human presence.
Without a word, he dove head-first into the sea.
With Darwin's survival of the fittest plus Deep-Sea abilities, he could move freely underwater.
He didn't swim himself; using Deep-Sea power he recruited a Dolphin to ferry him downward, and when the Dolphin gave out he swapped to another deep-sea leviathan.
Of course, he firmly rejected the Dolphin's invitation for a bit of fun—he's not some indiscriminate deep-sea creature.
Which left the Dolphin a bit heartbroken; looking back every three steps, it resembled a jilted young maiden.
No wonder Deep-Sea couldn't refuse.
Fang Yuan quickly shook his head, banishing images of Deep-Sea catfish, and after several transfers finally reached the target spot.
To the naked eye it looked like an ordinary stretch of seabed, but the surrounding fish told Fang Yuan a large group of special humans lived here.
Just like Wakanda, a concealment device was in place.
And this one was probably safer than Wakanda's, since Talokan didn't need to worry about waterproofing—whereas Wakanda's shield…
doesn't stop underwater attacks.
Without a pass, outsiders can't get in—but that's no problem for Fang Yuan.
He never planned to sneak in anyway.
After some thought he switched into Black King's outfit and donned a smiling mask.
Chances are no one would notice, but let Black King handle the dirty work.
He loaded both Impact and Homelander Character Templates; the next instant his eyes glowed crimson and two thick, blazing lasers blasted out.
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
The sea in front of him roared, and soon the protective shield melted open a gap big enough to walk through; Fang Yuan retracted his laser eyes and stepped inside.
Inside the barrier lay Talokan's so-called capital.
A capital of an undersea kingdom—Fang Yuan was seeing one for the first time.
"Whoa!"
He couldn't help exclaiming.
"It's… an undersea derelict factory."
How to describe the Kingdom of Talokan?
To Fang Yuan it felt like a vast shipwreck on the seabed, decorated with a few LED strips.
Strips that weren't even fully installed.
As if every Talokanian is light-shy, blessed with perfect night vision to see in the pitch-black depths.
Yet their king Namo installed an Artificial Sun under the sea to bring light to his people… "Why bother? Just add more big lights—does the seabed have power shortages too?" Fang Yuan snarked inwardly.
The last time he'd heard of such a contradictory nation was Wakanda.
Truly birds of a franchise feather.
He grumbled while counting the seconds.
Not bad—Talokan's royal guard appeared in Fang Yuan's sight in under two minutes, only a minute later than the onlookers who'd come for the commotion… The capital of Talokan wasn't large; the shield dome hugged the city's edge. An intruder should be met instantly, yet nearly two minutes had passed—long enough for Fang Yuan to charge a big move.
And, well, he had charged one.
A ten-man guard charged over. Their leader, dark-skinned and dressed like a typical Latino, had a tiny wing growing out of each ankle.
This was Namor, King of Talokan.
Namor leveled a Vibranium spear at Fang Yuan and shouted,
"Intruder, state your identity!"
Because Fang Yuan was breathing underwater unaided, Namor—though puzzled—held his attack.
Talokanans could speak beneath the waves; Fang Yuan actually could too, but he didn't bother.
"I am Black King. I've come for your allegiance."
The words echoed inside every Talokanan's mind; Fang Yuan had blanketed them all with Telepathy.
"Black King? Allegiance?"
Namor snorted.
"Thought you were from some new tribe, turns out you're just a lunatic."
With only one intruder visible, Namor felt no urgency. He waved his men back and lunged straight at Fang Yuan.
After eons beneath the sea, Talokanans rarely met outsiders; seeing one, Namor felt like toying with him.
But playtime ended in game over.
A crimson energy sphere formed in Fang Yuan's hand; it flashed once, then detonated with force far exceeding a conventional missile.
It was a combo he'd worked out after learning to wield multiple Templates at once.
He used Impact's power to charge Black King, then released it in a focused blast.
If Impact's output was 1, after Black King's compression it became 10—tenfold power.
The downside was the charge-up time, unless he stayed constantly primed.
Right now he could force three Templates at most, and the backlash hurt; full fusion wasn't viable yet.
Even using two Templates for the charge plus Telepathy—dropping Deep Sea for the moment—left him injured from the strain.
The instant the blast left his palm he switched to the Wolverine Template; the backlash wounds lasted only three seconds.
Mid-charge, Namor felt a greater force slam him backward, pain flaring through his body; he scrambled away in fright.
Gifted with powers, he could still react, but his guards were obliterated—those in front killed outright by the shockwave.
Talokan's capital suffered too; strictly speaking it held little more than frameworks, hardly any real buildings.
In this sector, frames and metal struts were nearly leveled, though a few survived.
Fang Yuan looked closer and exclaimed, "Nice—using Vibranium for roof beams?"
"Primitives wasting priceless treasure!" He fumed.
Anything not fully utilized was a waste—unless it belonged to him.
"Cough… huhk…"
Clutching his chest, Namor panted, staring in shock, every trace of regal aura gone from the so-called Marvel Aquaman.
Not that he'd had much to begin with.
Nearly half the capital lay in ruins from the blast; every Talokanan was stunned.
They'd believed their centuries-old king divinely favored, yet this sudden Black King defied imagination.
Such might—far beyond even their born ruler Kukulkan Namor.
"Royal guard!" Namor croaked, jabbing a finger at Fang Yuan. "Attack at full force!"
Talokan lacked a Wakandan inventor like Princess Shuri, but it had its own tech—formidable beneath the waves.
Gathering his courage, Namor charged Fang Yuan again.
He was King of Talokan; he would not fall without a proper exchange.
Comic Namor could pass as a nerfed DC Aquaman; movie Namor… struggled against rookie Black Panther II.
Though water dampened Fang Yuan's combat edge, thrashing a mere undersea chieftain was child's play.
As for the Talokan army, Metal Manipulation rendered their weapons useless; they could only swarm in for hand-to-hand.
At that moment Fang Yuan unleashed Telepathy on the battered, half-dazed Namor.
