She struggled against his hold. Ivy was hurt. Deeply. Betrayed in a way that struck at her autonomy, at her right to choose.
"He chose what was mine. He got himself involved."
"I'm not a thing! I'm not a property! I am not something that can be owned, you piece of shit!" Ivy snapped, her arm still firmly trapped behind her.
"You're a mother now, sugar." He whispered in her ear so his voice wouldn't drift anywhere except between them. "Watch your mouth."

She snapped the words back at him, twisting just enough to glare over her shoulder. Her eyes were wild, bright with fury.
"Darling, this is how it is going to go and there will be no question about it. You will be a good little girl and be a good little fiancée to Eugene. I need the attention off you."
