Chapter 69: The Silver Dragon King's Aid, the Spiritual Tide, and Xiao Huo's Awakening

A full day passed. All the light-element energy in the area had completely entered Ye Ling's body and been refined into his inner spiritual power. He didn't know exactly how much it was, but it had at least increased tenfold—nearly thirty points higher than before.

That was quite impressive.

Once he sensed his cultivation had concluded, Ye Ling regained awareness. As he opened his eyes, he felt a strange heaviness atop his head, as if something had added weight there.

"What's on my head?" Ye Ling muttered in confusion. Instead of moving recklessly, he chose to open his eyes and look upward.

As soon as he did, he saw the little Silver Dragon King with her eyes closed. Sensing Ye Ling's gaze, the young dragon opened her large eyes, blinked curiously at him, then closed them again, curling up atop his head as though to sleep.

So proud and aloof, huh.

"It seems this is the Silver Dragon King Gu Yuena before her full awakening. Right now, she probably retains only instinctive powers—the control over elemental energy. Given time, her wisdom as the Silver Dragon King should reawaken."

"When the Dragon God split, the violent and frenzied aspects of his power went to the Golden Dragon King, while the remainder—the essence of calm and harmony—became the Silver Dragon King," Ye Ling murmured, clearly understanding her origins.

Sensing carefully, Ye Ling realized Gu Yuena's current strength was equivalent to that of a sixth-rank magical beast—around the fifth-tier level among humans, already stronger than him.

But he knew this was only the beginning.

The Silver Dragon King's potential reached the realm of a God King.

Thinking so, Ye Ling raised his hand and gently rubbed the little dragon resting on his head. After being poked a few times, Gu Yuena only shifted slightly, changed position, and continued sleeping.

Was she using his head as a bed?

Unbelievable.

And acting all coy, too.

"Forget it. Since the contract is already formed, I can't afford to waste this month. I'll stay here and continue cultivating to see how far I can progress," Ye Ling thought.

Without another word, he sat cross-legged once more and entered meditation.

The aura of light around him surged, vast and radiant, drawing the surrounding elemental energy toward him in torrents.

At that moment, the Silver Dragon King atop his head suddenly opened her eyes. Her large, misty eyes blinked as if pondering something profound.

Soon, she seemed to understand—she needed to help Ye Ling grow stronger.

With that realization, a unique aura radiated from her small body, pulling the nearby elemental forces toward them.

In an instant, countless streams of elemental power gathered, converging upon Ye Ling's location.

The powers of light and traces of space-time energy flowed into him—resonating perfectly with his Six-Winged Angel Spirit and Space-Time Dragon Spirit—enhancing Ye Ling's spiritual growth at a tremendous rate.

The remaining elemental energy gathered above Ye Ling's head, absorbed by Gu Yuena, who extracted its core essence to strengthen herself.

After ten days of cultivation, the entire Holy Mountain of Knights began to undergo changes. Elemental energy surged violently, its aura growing terrifying as waves of spiritual tides formed—magnificent and refined, shaking the mountain itself.

The less intelligent magical beasts began to stir in frenzy, as if celebrating something unknown.

Only the powerful beasts above the seventh rank sensed that something unusual was happening and started searching for the source.

Yet clearly, they could not find it.

Though the scale of this spiritual tide was not enormous, it was enough to cause tremors deep within the mountain's core, awakening the awareness of its sealed heart.

At the very center of the Holy Mountain, in the Cavern of Seals, an ancient Death Knight suddenly opened his eyes, curiously sensing the disturbance.

"What is happening?"

"For six thousand years, the Holy Mountain of Knights has remained stable. There should be no reason for an elemental tide to occur. What could cause all elemental power to converge upon a single point and stir such a phenomenon?"

This aged Death Knight was none other than Xiao Huo, the first Hall Master of the Knight's Sanctuary—an exalted being at the ninth rank, eighth level.

Six thousand years ago, when the demon race descended, it was Xiao Huo who turned the tide of disaster and saved humanity from annihilation. Under his leadership, humanity forged the five Divine Seal Thrones.

After his death, by his own request, his soul and those of sixty of that era's strongest knights were sealed within the Cavern of Seals beneath the Holy Mountain—awaiting the day when humanity would once again face calamity.

In the long ages since, they had remained in silent slumber, awakening only when a new Hall Master appeared every few decades.

But never once had they been awakened like this. This was the first time.

Yet Xiao Huo was not angered. Instead, he began observing through his spiritual perception, seeking the cause of this disturbance.

Before long, he discovered something peculiar.

"These elemental tides are not natural. Someone is deliberately drawing and regulating them, preventing chaos. It feels as though a being is absorbing the tide itself… how intriguing."

After pondering for a moment, Xiao Huo made his decision. He separated a fragment of his soul and sent it into a manifested clone.

This was an ability they had long possessed. The clone could not last long, but it could transmit everything it witnessed back to the Cavern of Seals and even open a temporary portal for instant return.

Though useful, such avatars consumed vast energy. Normally, Xiao Huo and the others would not bother with them—too wasteful, too dull.

But this time, his curiosity was piqued. The sealed cavern had stirred, and he wanted to see what was happening for himself.

With that thought, the soul fragment animated the clone and began to move. Step by step, Xiao Huo's projection left the Cavern of Seals, heading toward the source of the elemental tide.

Xiao Huo was quite expectant.

But no matter how eager he was, he could never have imagined that the one causing the elemental tide was merely a youth within the Knight's Sanctuary—one who had not even reached the fifth rank.
