Chapter 11 - A True Tycoon

Isse Sajeka.

That was the old lady's name.

During their mealtime chat, Ur learned a bit about her background.

It was simple. Years ago, her husband was killed by mountain bandits during a business trip. Her son also worked away from home all year round and rarely returned.

In other words, Grandma Isse lived alone in this house.

But despite being alone, she was far from poor.

She was not lacking in money.

At all.

The old lady was loaded.

When her husband was still alive, he had bought an entire area of land filled with fish ponds. Even now, the income from those ponds brings in a staggering fortune every year.

And that… was exactly what Ur's current task revolved around.

In the world of Fairy Tail, magic power was the central energy source. It was a core part of everyday life. Most appliances, transport, and utilities all operated using magic power.

Apart from lacrima crystals, only mages could generate magic power.

And Ur's current task?

Act as a walking power generator.

In truth, money no longer meant much to Grandma Isse.

She had stopped selling fish years ago. Instead, she began treating the ones in her backyard ponds like pets, even giving them special meals now and then.

(Yes, she pampered her fish.)

But because of that, her fish were huge and fat, and there were too many of them.

Eventually, she was forced to sell the extras to make room. The buyers were already lined up, and all that was left was to drain the water and catch the fish.

The deadline is three days.

Ur had only three days to fully drain her backyard fish ponds using magic-powered pumps.

When Ur saw the ponds…

He nearly blacked out.

It wasn't just a fish pond.

It was a network of ponds—dozens of them, connected in a sprawling complex!

A freaking aquatic empire.

Ur stood frozen for a moment, completely shell-shocked.

"What the hell was I thinking? I wasted hours stuffing my face when this was waiting for me!? That was valuable work time!"

Right then and there, he wanted to slap himself in the face.

Now he understood why Makarov had recommended a partner. There was no way his tiny magic power could handle this alone. It would take Ur non-stop draining, day and night, to finish in time.

And that was without accounting for the time he just spent eating!

He had originally thought that 15,000 J was a generous payout.

But now?

"This isn't generous! This is slave labor with a tip!"

No more time to waste!

He dove right into work, knowing that finishing missions wasn't just about money—it was tied to the guild's reputation and his promotion as a mage.

Ur had to climb past D-Class soon.

The money was just too bad at this level.

Unfortunately, the magic pump he was powering wasn't very efficient. This world's tech wasn't that advanced, and magic tools weren't optimized.

According to the system's internal calculations, 1 unit of magic could run the pump for about 10 minutes.

Even when he went all out, he could only power the machine for two hours before his magic power was empty. After that, he had to meditate to restore his magic.

He genuinely wanted to work hard. After all, he'd just eaten a massive free meal. That alone was reason enough to give it his all.

But somehow…

It felt like Grandma Isse didn't really care whether he worked or not.

"Umm… Grandma Isse, I really don't eat that much. You don't need to prepare so much every time…" Looking at the newest mountain of grilled meats and baked fish on the table, Ur couldn't help but say it.

"Nonsense! You're still growing, look at you—all skin and bones! Eat more!" She completely ignored him and continued placing dishes on the table with motherly insistence.

Ur: "…"

He glanced down at himself. After just two days, he had already visibly rounded out—not from fat, but from sheer overstuffing.

Even with the aid of his Void Hunger, his body had visibly plumped up in just two days. He had gained several kilograms.

It was being bloated beyond human limits.

Still, he had to admit that thanks to Grandma Isse's cooking, his work efficiency had improved significantly.

Originally, when he ran out of magic, meditation took over an hour to restore it.

Now?

Thanks to the high-quality, high-energy meals, his recovery rate had nearly doubled.

In under an hour, he was back at full strength.

And not just that, in just two days, his stats had changed.

Invincible Passive System

Host: Wei Yi (Ur)

Passive Skill:Void Hunger

Health: 12 → 15

Magic Power: 12

Mental Strength: 16

Magic Resistance: 0%

Armor: 0%

Thanks to the system's rounding function, his magic power and mental strength growth hadn't shown up on the stat panel just yet.

But his health?

It had jumped to three whole points in just two days.

That was insane.

Even during his recovery phase earlier in the story, his health never rose this fast.

The data spoke for itself.

"I haven't just been living like a pig… I've been thriving like one!"

In the end, thanks to Grandma Isse's relentless feeding, Ur not only finished the mission but even completed it ahead of schedule.

When it was finally time to leave, Ur could sense the old woman's reluctance to see him go.

But there wasn't much he could say to comfort her.

After all, he couldn't stay here forever.

So, after accepting her gift and his mission reward, Ur said goodbye to the unforgettable residence and made his way back to the guild.
