Invincible Passive System

Magic Power: 21
Mental Strength: 19
Magic Resistance: 0%

Feeling the surge of magic in his body, Ur immediately opened his status screen.
Just as he expected!
After killing the gorilla monster, his magic power had increased by a full five points, thanks to the passive effect of Evil Equilibrium—roughly one-tenth of the gorilla's total magic power.
That was more than enough for Ur to be satisfied.
Five points might not look like much, but subjectively, Ur could feel the difference. A substantial increase in magical power now coursed through his body.
The boost gave him a subtle sense of... inflation.
Power really is addictive…
Basic Earth Magic, Sinkhole!
After adjusting to his new power, Ur used Earth Magic Sinkhole to dig a makeshift grave for the gorilla monster, a respectful "return" for the magic power it had granted him.
Sure, he had considered eating the thing. But in the end, he gave up on that idea. Gorillas look way too human. He couldn't bring himself to do it.
With the gorilla dealt with, Ur's introductory training in Kuga Combat Technique was also complete. For now.
Maybe it was the life-or-death chase that did it, but Ur ended up finishing the first stage of training even earlier than scheduled.
Figures. Nothing pushes a person harder than desperation…
Now that the first stage was complete, Ur could move on to the next. Compared to the unorthodox intro stage, the second phase felt much more "normal", closer to typical martial arts training.
...Just more brutal, that's all.
Still, even if it was physical training, it wasn't like Ur could train 24/7. His body had limits, too.

During downtime.
Ur spent his free time meditating and practicing low-tier rock magic. He had already mastered basic earth elemental transformations. And while he hasn't learned actual rock magic yet, he could already blend in rock-based elemental variations when casting earth magic.
For example, the Earth Spike he used to kill the gorilla was a direct result of his nature transformation training.
Days slipped by, and before he knew it, another five days had passed in training.
And on this very day, the members that Fairy Tail had dispatched to aid Angel's Wings finally set out from the guild.
After half a month of preparation, Angel's Wings had finally decided to launch their final assault on Devil's Fang.
Guild wars weren't something you just started on a whim. They involved politics, territory, regulations…
In some cases, even a single war could take years of preparation.
Of course, Fairy Tail didn't exactly follow that playbook.
They were the kind of guild that, when told, "We're going to war." They would charge into enemy territory that same day.
You'd be hard-pressed to find another guild on the continent like them.
But despite all the commotion when Erza and the others left, Ur remained completely unaware because he had already left the guild earlier that morning.
After all, as important as training was, improving his mage class was equally crucial.
In Fairy Tail, one of the main factors in rank promotion was task completion, especially when it came to S-Class candidates.
Even if your power was enough, if your mission count didn't meet the quota, you'd never get promoted.
Of course, S-Class was still a distant dream for Ur.
But it never hurts to plan.
More importantly, B-class wasn't all that far away.
He had left the guild early to finish the task quickly and return in time to continue his studies and training.

Now seated in a train carriage, Ur stared at the mission scroll in his hand, reading through the details.
Mission: Apprehend the thief, Jericho
Reward: 78,000J
That was it.
While C-Class missions typically didn't involve much danger, they often required some level of combat ability, unlike most D-Class missions.
This Jericho guy was just a regular human thief.
Ordinarily, apprehending someone like this would be the job of law enforcement. But the thief had stolen something extremely valuable from a wealthy merchant.
So the merchant went straight to a mage guild and posted a job request, hoping for a quick resolution.
Among all the C-Class options available, "thief-catching" was one of the more annoying categories.
Under normal circumstances, someone in a hurry like Ur should've avoided this type of mission entirely.
But that reward.
78,000J caught his eye.
So, after some careful calculations, Ur decided this one was a great value for the price!
"Last spotted in Stygog Town, huh…" Ur stared at the mission report, falling deep into thought.
Catching a thief wasn't hard.
Finding him was the real challenge.
As Ur pondered ways to locate Jericho quickly, the train slowed to a stop.
At the same time, a loud announcement came over the speaker:
"Next stop, Stygog Town!"
