Can You Give Me a Reminder Before You Come In?
Marvel World.
Xu Mo's figure suddenly appeared inside the beach villa.
The moment he turned on his phone, it began to ring.
He glanced at the screen.
"Avril?"
He answered the call.
Avril's voice burst through immediately:
"Oh my god, you finally picked up! Do you know how many times I've been calling these past few days?"
Her tone carried exasperation. Having such an irresponsible boss clearly weighed on her—he never came to the company, and now he didn't even bother answering calls. Sometimes, she wondered who the real owner of the company was.
"Uh… sorry. I've been traveling. No phone signal," Xu Mo replied, scratching his head awkwardly. "By the way, is something wrong?"
Quickly shifting the subject stopped her from ranting further. Avril forced down her resentment. When it came to work, her usual strong, professional demeanor took over.
"Ms. Potts couldn't reach you, so she contacted me. The Stark Expo is happening next month. As the second-largest shareholder, you need to be there on time. Also, Ms. Potts asked me to thank you for your last warning—otherwise, Mr. Stark would have been in serious danger in Morocco. He asked me to tell you to come by when you have time. He wants to thank you personally."
…
A few minutes later, Xu Mo hung up the phone.
"So Tony's already been attacked by Whiplash?"
Judging from the thanks, Stark must have followed his advice. According to the plot, Whiplash would soon be recruited by Justin Hammer of Hammer Industries, giving him access to the Arc Reactor's secrets and throwing the Expo into chaos.
That, Xu Mo could not allow.
After all, Stark Industries was now his asset. Destroying the Expo would be the same as damaging his own property.
Even if money no longer meant much to him, that didn't mean he would let others trample on what was his.
Of course, he didn't need to handle this personally. If he had to do everything himself, what use were subordinates? Sending Old Wan once would be enough.
Old Wan was the natural nemesis of iron suits. To him, those armors were little more than toys.
Speaking of Wan, I wonder if he's already brought his daughter back…
Xu Mo's mind drifted to the green-haired Polaris.
…
A few minutes later, Xu Mo walked out of the villa.
The sky had begun to darken. On the beach not far away, two figures lounged under a parasol.
As he approached, he saw them clearly:
On the left recliner, a pale-skinned blonde in a bikini—Mystique, Raven.
On the right, a dark-haired, tanned woman—Psylocke.
Hearing his footsteps, both turned their heads.
Psylocke immediately rose, bowing slightly. "Master!"
Raven sat up lazily, smiling. "Boss, you don't mind if we enjoy the beach a little, do you?"
The two had known each other for years. Since Psylocke's defeat at Apocalypse's side and her capture on the island, she and Raven often acted together.
"Of course not," Xu Mo replied with a small shake of his head. He wasn't so petty.
"You two haven't been on missions lately?"
Casually pulling a recliner from his space door, Xu Mo stretched out beside them, enjoying the evening sea breeze.
"Of course we have!" Raven shot back. "Just yesterday, we captured a strange individual. Emma said he was valuable, so she gave us a few days off."
"Strange how?" Xu Mo frowned.
Raven's expression turned serious.
"Her ability is similar to mine—shapeshifting. She can take on someone's appearance, but not just that. By touching them, she also absorbs their memories. Her combat ability is poor though, and her true form… ugh. Sickly green skin, long pointed ears."
She curled her lip, clearly dissatisfied that this newcomer's ability outshined her own in some ways.
"Green skin and pointed ears? …Skrull?"
Xu Mo's eyes widened slightly. It fit the timeline. There were already Skrulls living on Earth in secret. He hadn't expected Raven and Psylocke to capture one so soon.
"Where did you find them?"
"This Skrull was posing as a government official, exploiting his position for bribes. Someone wanted him dead and put out a bounty. I just happened to take the mission."
After Xu Mo's soldiers completed training, he'd created an online platform for assassination contracts. Unlike normal mercenary groups, his required evidence of the target's crimes before accepting. The rates were far cheaper than other platforms, and many soldiers on the island used it to gain points while increasing revenue.
"And where's the Skrull now?" Xu Mo asked.
"Sent to the lab for study," Raven replied.
Xu Mo stood up immediately. He wanted to ask Emma directly. As a powerful telepath, she could extract information from the alien's mind.
Stepping through the space gate, Xu Mo entered Emma's living room.
She was sprawled lazily on the sofa, reading with quiet focus.
Her eyes flicked to him when he appeared—but she didn't flinch. She was used to it.
After all, he never bothered with doors.
Emma sighed softly, closing her book.
"Dear, next time you come in… could you at least give me a little warning first?"
