Ashley woke to the smell of coffee in the air. She felt so warm on the bed,temporarily forgetting, she was supposed to be heartbroken.
Everything felt like it was supposed to be. She could perceive the smell of something familiar, Julian's cologne.
The clean smell was in bits and traces in her room. Did she miss him, this much to have a fathom smell of him? For a second she had thought she was back at the mansion, tucked under their bed.
Till she opened her eyes, scanning the room absentmindedly and settled on the old poster on her childhood wall, re-affirming her circumstances.
She was back home with her parents and the ache she almost forgot came back with full vengeance.
There was a soft knock. The door opened a hand's width. Her mother's face, careful and kind.
"How are you this morning?"
"I feel better, thanks mum."
Her Mother came over to hug her, but she had the look, like there was something else, weighing on her mind.
