Lady Demetria glared at the guards as they hurriedly closed the door behind the coven.
She herself couldn't move. Her trembling fingers continued stroking her son's hair, pushing back the damp strands that clung to his forehead. His skin felt too cold. Yet he was burning.
"Dante…Tay Tay…my baby…look at me,son…" she whispered, her voice breaking around the names she used to call him. "Come on, open your eyes, sweetheart… please…"
The witches and Seers gathered silently around them, robes brushing against the marble floor, eyes dark and unreadable in the dim moonlight that slanted through the half drawn curtains.
They were the coven of rogues, sheltered by the CrimsonMoon Pack… the best of the best and the worst of the worst…the perfect package… there was nothing they didn't know… or couldn't do…
