Chapter 294 - Chapter 294 1+1=0

"Good luck," Kayson said with a smile as he saw Harry off.

Cedric stroked his chin, "Professor, aren't you going to help Harry?"

"Harry said he could do it himself, so let him figure it out," Kayson said, shaking his head.

Then, in the Alchemy class the next day, Kayson wrote dense Runes symbols on the blackboard.

"These Runes symbols, when combined with an enchantment book and an Enchanting Table, can accomplish things that we normally can't. For example, if you enchant this Rune onto a hat, you can breathe underwater, which is very interesting."

Harry, who was copying Runes in his notebook, suddenly paused. He thought for about half a second, and finally decided that he should bring some gifts to the alchemy office one day to apologize to Professor Kayson for his willfulness.

Then he continued copying.

After class, Kayson, who went straight back to his office upstairs, saw Dumbledore arriving in a small boat.

"What happened?" Kayson asked in surprise.

"The Christmas Ball, remember?" Dumbledore said.

"Huh?" Kayson asked, looking bewildered.

"We talked about getting that outsider hidden in Hogwarts drunk," Dumbledore rephrased.

"Oh, the Christmas Ball!" Kayson understood this time.

"So your only memory point is the alcohol?" Dumbledore said, rolling his eyes.

"Alright, are we going to plan with Severus to make a large batch of Polyjuice Potion antidote? Actually, milk can achieve the same effect," Kayson said.

"Let's go with the Polyjuice Potion antidote. We can choose to put a mild antidote directly into the drinks, and then find the person whose body undergoes a change," Dumbledore said.

"Alright then, I just remembered the effect of milk," Kayson said, a little disappointed.

"Oh right, besides that, have you found a dance partner?" Dumbledore continued to ask.

"Uh, I don't plan to dance."

"Well... that's true, there aren't any female Professors of appropriate age waiting for your invitation at Hogwarts."

"Mm-hmm." Kayson sat on the sofa and strategically took a sip of tea. He was thinking about whether he should go out for a special meal at noon later.

Then Harry and Ron came knocking.

"What happened again?" Kayson asked.

"Professor? Do you know about the Christmas Ball?" Harry asked, swallowing.

"I know... uh... Harry, you're supposed to lead the dance as the champion, right?" Kayson said.

"Exactly, but we haven't found partners yet," Ron said bitterly.

"I can understand Harry not finding a partner, but Ron, why haven't you found one yet? You could invite Hermione!" Kayson said, frowning.

"Hermione? Is she a girl?" Ron asked, looking bewildered.

"Huh?" Kayson asked in surprise.

"Uh, perhaps to put it more directly, Professor, Hermione and I are too familiar. It's a bit awkward. You know our relationship; we know everything about each other, and then hugging and dancing together, that feeling just feels strange," Ron said with a look of disgust.

"...Hmm... Do you want to invite Hermione?" Kayson continued to ask.

"What I mean, Professor, is that Hermione is like a brother to me. I can't just extend my demonic claws towards a brother, can I?" Ron said, shaking his head.

"Extend towards a brother..." Kayson looked at Harry, then at Ron...

That thought was too dangerous, too dangerous...

"If you really can't find partners, would you be each other's partners?" Kayson said, pointing at Harry and Ron.

"Uh... it would actually be a bit awkward. Maybe if they wouldn't focus strange looks on our same gender, perhaps we could," Ron said after a moment's thought.

"Then isn't it fine? You're a boy, Hermione's a girl. No one would say anything if you invited her to be your partner," Kayson said, clapping his hands.

Ron swallowed, his brows still tightly furrowed.

"So now I..."

"Of course, go find Hermione! Are you waiting for her to find you?" Kayson said.

Ron thought for a moment, then sold Harry out: "Good brother, I'm going to invite Hermione! You're on your own!"

As Ron scurried out of the office, Harry pointed a finger at himself: "What about me?"

"You? Do you have anyone you like?" Kayson asked.

"Professor, you know me, I'm a Sigma male," Harry said, shaking his head.

"...How about you go find Neville?" Kayson suggested.

"Neville just invited Hannah Abbott from Hufflepuff," Harry said bitterly.

"..."

"....."

Just as the two looked at each other in silence, Ron returned, looking miserable.

"What's wrong? Couldn't find Hermione?" Harry asked.

Ron shook his head: "I found her, but I was too late. Someone already invited her."

Kayson raised an eyebrow: "Who?"

"Viktor... Krum!" Ron said the name, uncharacteristically, without admiration, but through gritted teeth.

"Looks like you're pretty resentful," Harry said, with half-moon eyes.

"So now one problem has become two problems?" Kayson retorted.

The two simultaneously turned to look at Kayson: "Apparently so."

Kayson looked up at the ceiling. He thought for a moment; this was a simple math problem.

1+1 = 0

Perfect!

Kayson showed an ineffable smile: "Well, a while ago I saw Severus. He invented a special Potion..."

Harry and Ron exchanged glances, and both saw deep fear in each other's eyes.

"Uh, Professor, we suddenly don't want to find dance partners," Ron said, about to leave, but was pulled back by Kayson's mechanical arm.

On the other side, Harry also had an epiphany. He couldn't wait for a dance partner to find him; he had to take the initiative. He decided that he would invite the first female classmate he encountered after leaving this door.

He was also pulled back.

"Professor, we suddenly feel it's better to invite our own dance partners."

Kayson smiled as he watched the two.
