Chapter 70 - DTC : Chapter 70

The Interference

The pillar did not finish awakening.

Something interrupted it.

The Fracture appeared above the sky as arena froze.

The rotating geometric field—those shifting planes and layered constructs—halted mid-motion, as if time itself had hesitated.

Ayush noticed first.

"It stopped."

Vedant looked up.

"…that's not part of the trial."

No.

It wasn't.

The fractures in the sky did not realign.

They split wider.

A thin line of darkness appeared between two layers of reality.

Not shadow.

Not absence.

Depth.

Raghu felt it immediately.

The sword pulsed violently.

The fragments resonated.

Not in harmony.

In response.

On the observation deck— Every system failed at once.

Not crashed.

Silenced.

Harry's screens went blank.

Then—

One line appeared.

UNAUTHORIZED DOMAIN ENTRY DETECTED

Harry stood up slowly.

"No…"

The AI didn't respond.

Because this wasn't something it could process.

Another line followed.

SOURCE: OUTSIDE RAIL NETWORK

Harry exhaled.

"That's not interference…"

A pause.

"That's arrival."

Back in the arena— The fracture widened.

Not violently.

Not forcefully.

As if reality itself was allowing it.

A shape emerged.

Not fully formed.

A silhouette.

Humanoid.

Incomplete.

The moment it entered—

The entire arena shifted.

The pillar dimmed.

The pressure field collapsed.

The Halo Watches flickered erratically.

ASCENSION SYSTEM ERROR

RECALIBRATING…

The five survivors stood frozen.

Because this—

This was not part of the trial.

Presence

The Entity did not move at first.

It simply existed.

And that was enough.

The air bent.

The ground felt… thinner.

As if the layer itself was struggling to hold shape around it.

Nathan took a step back.

"What is that?"

No one answered.

Because no one knew.

Except—

Raghu.

Not consciously.

But instinctively.

The resonance between his fragments shifted.

Aligned.

Recognized.

The Entity turned.

Slowly.

Deliberately.

Its form sharpened slightly—not fully solid, but more defined.

A face.

Not detailed.

But focused.

And then—

It looked directly at Raghu.

Everything else disappeared.

Not physically.

But in priority.

The world narrowed to that single moment of observation.

The Words That Weren't Spoken

No sound came.

But Raghu heard it.

Clear.

Unmistakable.

"You carry it well."

His breath stilled.

The sword pulsed once.

The Verdant Pulse responded.

For a brief moment—

The arena stabilized around him.

Vedant stepped forward immediately.

"Doesn't matter what it is."

Fire ignited in his hands.

"We break it."

Ayush snapped—

"No."

Vedant frowned.

"It disrupted the system," Ayush said. "That means it's above the system."

Gudi would have smiled at that.

But Gudi was gone.

The thought passed quickly.

Karsh shifted his stance.

"Then we don't fight it."

Nathan shook his head slowly.

"Then what do we do?"

No one answered.

Because the Entity hadn't acted.

It hadn't attacked.

It hadn't threatened.

It had simply—

Arrived.

The Pillar Reacted immediately as The black pillar at the center pulsed weakly.

Then stronger.

As if trying to reassert control.

Golden fractures lit up again.

The system pushed back.

CORE AUTHORITY REASSERTING

The Entity tilted its head slightly.

Almost curious.

Then—

It took one step forward.

The pillar cracked.

Not damaged.

Overruled.

Harry Understands

Back on the deck—

Harry's screens flickered back to life.

Data flooded in.

Too fast to process.

But one line stood out.

CORE PRIORITY SHIFT DETECTED

Harry's voice dropped.

"It's not breaking the system…"

He leaned closer.

"It's rewriting priority."

The AI responded quietly.

"Core authority is yielding."

Harry froze.

"That's not possible."

Raghu Moved and stepped forward.

Not forced.

Not compelled.

Aligned.

The Entity watched him.

The fragments resonated.

Two pieces of the Fang—

Acknowledging something older than themselves.

Ayush saw it.

"Don't," he said.

Raghu didn't stop.

Because this wasn't a fight.

This wasn't a trial.

This was—

Recognition.

The Entity stopped.

Right at the edge of the pillar.

It did not touch it.

It did not claim it.

It simply observed.

Then—

It spoke again.

Not to all.

Only to Raghu.

"You are not ready."

The words didn't feel like rejection.

They felt like timing.

The fracture in the sky reopened as The Entity stepped back.

Its form dissolving as it retreated into the void beyond the layer.

Before it disappeared—

It looked once more.

Not just at Raghu.

At all of them.

Measuring.

Remembering.

Then it was gone.

The arena snapped back into place.

The pillar surged.

Brighter than before.

The Halo Watches stabilized.

ASCENSION SYSTEM RESTORED

INTERFERENCE LOGGED

TRIAL CONTINUING

Silence.

Heavy.

Unstable.

Ayush exhaled slowly.

"That…"

He didn't finish.

Vedant clenched his fists.

"…we're fighting that later, aren't we?"

Raghu looked at the pillar.

The fragments pulsed quietly.

The presence was gone.

But not distant anymore.

At the center of the arena—

the pillar fully awakened.

Because now—

it knew exactly who it was testing.
