Chapter 127 - Killian Glimor

I kept my pace steady as we moved through Greyford's streets, heading toward the town's edge.

Scarlet walked behind us now, carrying both mine and Agnes's bags slung over her shoulders.

Her jaw was set tight, shoulders tense beneath her cloak. She kept her hood up, head down, playing the part of a dutiful servant even though I could practically feel the resentment radiating off her in waves.

Every few steps, I caught her shooting daggers at the back of my head.

Agnes walked silently beside me, her face unreadable. She hadn't spoken since leaving the inn. Hadn't looked at me either, keeping her gaze fixed straight ahead like I wasn't even there.

The silence between us was suffocating.

Well, I wasn't looking at her though.

Not because I didn't want to, but because my main focus had to be on the streets around us. I kept scanning faces, watching for any sign of Glimor's men patrolling or searching.
