The NetWatch agent on the other side looked at the Haishen Subnet, which they had previously been unable to breach, now successfully breached, feeling a bit strange.
This also solidified his belief that something must have happened to the Voodoo Boys.
Driven by curiosity, the NetWatch agent infiltrated the Voodoo Boys' data fortress.
But he found that there was no data left here, and he couldn't see any of the Voodoo Boys' hackers.
"You came quite fast, Network Surveillance."
The sudden communication voice startled the NetWatch agent, who then spoke.
"Who are you? You're not a member of the Voodoo Boys. What happened to the Voodoo Boys? Why did their data fortress become like this?"
The NetWatch agent fired off a string of questions.
Having dealt with the Voodoo Boys for so long, he knew that the guy communicating with him was definitely not a member of the Voodoo Boys.
"You have quite a few questions. I'm too lazy to answer so many of them, but from today onwards, the Voodoo Boys no longer exist.
Network Surveillance, you really should thank me for this. I took care of the Voodoo Boys, whom you've been trying so hard to deal with but couldn't."
"The Voodoo Boys were eliminated?" the NetWatch agent asked in surprise.
"Don't you NetWatch guys advertise yourselves as the saviors of the new network? Now that this gang, which posed a huge threat to the Blackwall, has been eliminated, you don't seem all that excited," Luoqi teased.
The NetWatch agent was taken aback by Luoqi's words.
NetWatch should indeed be excited about the Voodoo Boys being eliminated; after all, it was an undeniable fact that the Voodoo Boys had always threatened the Blackwall.
But that was just one reason for NetWatch to deal with the Voodoo Boys. Network Surveillance itself believed that the Voodoo Boys posed no real threat to the Blackwall.
The best proof of this was that the Voodoo Boys had been studying the Blackwall for so long without being able to breach it.
Network Surveillance had always wanted to eliminate the Voodoo Boys, but they wanted to do it themselves, not have it done by some unknown person or organization.
This was because Network Surveillance wanted the large amount of data stored in the Voodoo Boys' data fortress.
That data, stolen from various major corporations, was what truly held value for Network Surveillance.
Now that this data was gone, it made no difference to them whether the Voodoo Boys were eliminated or not.
Instead, all their efforts up to this point had been completely wasted.
"What about the data in the Voodoo Boys' data fortress?" the NetWatch agent quickly asked.
If this guy really eliminated the Voodoo Boys, then he must know where the Voodoo Boys' data went.
Or perhaps this data was now in his hands.
"So, this is what you Network Surveillance guys have always wanted. This data isn't very useful to me.
But if you Network Surveillance want it, it's simple: just pay the right price."
Luoqi had long guessed that Network Surveillance would be interested in this data. Since that was the case, it was a good opportunity to make some money from them.
As Luoqi finished speaking, it confirmed the NetWatch agent's suspicion.
This guy was the one who transferred the Voodoo Boys' data.
Facing the data that had vanished without a trace, the agent considered the possibility of directly attacking this person, but then dismissed it.
This guy was able to eliminate the Voodoo Boys, so his network capabilities shouldn't be weak.
Furthermore, now that the other party controlled the Haishen Subnet, NetWatch was at a disadvantage.
Perhaps they could obtain the data through peaceful means.
The NetWatch agent then spoke.
"NetWatch does need this data. What price do you want?"
"What I want is simple: just pay up. Ten million Euro and you can take this data package."
Luoqi didn't want to get too involved with NetWatch; it was better to just exchange money for data directly.
Ascension Technology's current funding gap needed to be filled, and Network Surveillance could be said to have come right to their doorstep.
Luoqi's condition was within NetWatch's expectations, but he still hesitated for a moment.
A monetary transaction, very straightforward, very reasonable.
But what NetWatch had to consider was whether this deal was worth it.
After all, as a capitalist enterprise, they wanted this data to gain more profit.
Network Surveillance also didn't know the volume of this Voodoo Boys data.
"I need to report this matter."
"Then you'd better be quick. I don't have that much time to waste with you. Don't worry, this data is absolutely worth the money.
As NetWatch, you should know best how much secret corporate data the Voodoo Boys had. These things are perfect for you to conduct dirty deals with, aren't they?"
Hearing Luoqi's urging, the NetWatch agent immediately took action.
Although the outcome of this transaction wasn't something he could decide on his own, if he couldn't get this data, he would likely be the one to take the blame.
After a while, the NetWatch agent returned with the result.
They agreed to the transaction.
Luoqi was a bit surprised that NetWatch agreed so readily.
But he soon found out the reason for NetWatch's readiness.
Network Surveillance had tampered with the transaction's financial flow, attempting to track down the party they were dealing with.
It seemed Network Surveillance still couldn't swallow this.
After all, originally this data wouldn't have needed to be bought at a high price.
But now that Luoqi had appeared out of nowhere, it was equivalent to them losing this sum of money for nothing.
The tampering done by Network Surveillance was very subtle, but it still couldn't escape the detection of the Ascension Technology system.
"It seems your Network Surveillance's methods aren't very clean. If you're going to be this insincere, I think we should just forget about this transaction."
Luoqi's words made the NetWatch agent pause.
But even with his dirty tricks discovered, he didn't panic, as if he was already used to such shameless behavior. He merely reorganized his words.
"This was just an accident. We Network Surveillance are sincere. I will switch to a clean financial flow for you."
"Alright. However, you Network Surveillance have consumed my sincerity, so this matter isn't so simple anymore.
If you want the data now, you can, but you have to pay more."
"You... fine."
Facing the cunning Network Surveillance, Luoqi didn't indulge them either, immediately turning into a 'more money' demanding expert.
In the end, NetWatch could only force themselves to swallow this, buying this batch of data from Luoqi for the price of twelve million Euro.
The transaction was completed, and the last bit of the Voodoo Boys' value was completely squeezed out.
Luoqi left the base with Rebecca.
And the Network Surveillance personnel quickly detected the address of the Voodoo Boys' base through the breached Haishen Subnet.
A large number of NetWatch agents and operational personnel stormed into the church and entered the maglev tunnel base.
And upon seeing the horrific state of the base, Network Surveillance finally understood how this guy had breached the Voodoo Boys' servers and eliminated them.
The bodies in this base were clearly not from brains burned by network intrusion, but were violently physically annihilated by someone.
Having charged right up to the main server and gone on a killing spree, it was reasonable that he could control the server.
Indeed, is physical elimination still the best way to deal with hackers?
Watching this scene, the Network Surveillance personnel couldn't help but wonder if they should change their planning and operational methods for dealing with other hacker gangs.
